About me and my therapy practice
I am a professionally qualified integrative counselling psychotherapist. I work by combining psychodynamic approaches, which help us understand how past experiences may be affecting you now, with a client-centred approach, where you are in control of the process. My role is to guide and support you as we explore any repeating patterns from the past that may have once been helpful but are now holding you back. I see myself as the ‘airport’ for your journey, offering you the tools and support you need along the way.
Throughout my 20-year career, I’ve worked with a wide range of individuals within the mental health system, family court system, children and families to those facing life-altering disabilities, I have worked within the NHS, UK charities, and local authorities.
Whether you're feeling lost, overwhelmed, anxious, or grieving, these feelings are normal and understandable responses to difficult life experiences. When they become too much to bear, a confidential, supportive space can provide the relief and clarity you need to move forward. I am here to offer that space, helping you process your emotions safely and without judgment.
I believe that each person’s experience is unique and comes with its own strengths and challenges. My therapeutic approach, which includes training in Adult Attachment Therapy and a range of other techniques like mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), allows me to adapt our sessions to your specific needs.
Our work together will focus on building a safe, trusting relationship that helps you develop a stronger, more compassionate connection with yourself. I will listen without judgment, respect your story, and provide tools that help you move through your healing journey with care and empathy.
My first session
In our first session, we will start with an initial assessment to get a clear understanding of your current situation and any challenges you may be facing. This will help me understand your background and what has brought you to therapy. We will also explore your goals for therapy, whether you're looking for immediate relief from overwhelming emotions or seeking deeper, long-term healing from past experiences. The goal of this assessment is to ensure that we create a therapy plan that feels right for you, tailored to your specific needs and objectives. This process will also give us a chance to see how we can best work together to support you on your journey.
