Availability
I am available 8am to 6pm Mon to Fri, 8am to 2pm Sat and Sun. I am currently taking new clients.
About me and my therapy practice
Is it time to talk to someone? Are you feeling anxious?
I'm an experienced, qualified, integrative counsellor and psychotherapist (level 7, the highest level), with full clinical psychotherapist registration with both UKCP and Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ.
My clients describe me as friendly, empathic and thoughtful.
Deciding to see a therapist may feel daunting, you may think you should just carry on regardless, but you don't have to face your troubles alone.
Therapy helps you clear the mists and see your real issues, and then make positive changes, not carrying on with the same repeated cycles, breaking free from that well worn merry-go-round.
I work in person in St Albans from my home (plenty of free parking), by Zoom, and by phone.
My fee is £75 for individuals (concessions may be available for those with low disposable income), therapy students £55 (limited availability).
Is it time to invest in your future contentment and happiness?
Practice description
I provide general therapy for whatever it is that is causing you to be less content and have spent many years seeing clients with a wide variety of issues.
I specialise in anxiety and depression, along with all addictions.
I have, over many years, worked 1 to 1 in the addictions field, and was also deputy group counselling manager at a very well respected day rehab facility.
Further specialities include compulsive people pleasing and acute life events such as relationship breakdown, redundancy or bereavement.
'Your session is YOUR session'... You can talk with me completely confidentially about anything you feel you want too. There are no rules, I don't set the agenda.
My background was in business and I have had many difficult periods in my life, including issues with alcoholism. These brought me to therapy and then becoming a therapist myself. The relevance of this is that of the 'wounded healer'... by experiencing issues myself I may be able to relate more readily to you.
My first session
Initially we can speak over the phone if you like, followed by a free booked 20-25 minute zoom/in person session (in St Albans) where you can decide if you think I am right for you.
There is no charge for the first session.
It is important to feel relaxed and content with your therapist, you may be a little nervous, that is normal, but by having a 'trial run' you can decide how to proceed.
I strongly believe that all my clients deserve a confidential, safe, empathic place where they can be truly heard. Life is hard even though we wish it wasn't.
Together we can work towards a more fulfilled, calm and content you.

My specialities include anxiety and depression, and acute life events such as relationship breakdown, redundancy or bereavement.
I further specialise in addiction. I've spent many years with a national addiction charity working one to one with clients with a variety of addictions, including alcohol, drugs, food, shopping and codependency (needing to feel needed) , and was counselling deputy manager at a respected day-rehab charity. I also specialise in depression, bipolar and anger management.
Issues in our upbringing often lie behind adult problems, and they need gentle untangling.
