About me and my therapy practice
My name is Jacqueline I am a qualified counsellor and a registered member of the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ, welcome to my profile page. Let me tell you a little bit about myself.
I have an FdSc in Counselling awarded by the University of Greenwich. Initially trained in humanistic modalities I have added to this skill set through additional training and now work in an Integrative way. This is because I believe that we are all unique individuals and there is no one therapy approach that suits all clients. My aim is to incorporate both my training and experience to provide a client-centred, individualised approach.
I understand how overwhelming it can be to go through different therapist profiles and to choose one that feels right for you. Life is a journey, but it is a journey without a map and at times we can struggle to find our way.
This can be due to many reasons, such as: uncertainty, anxiety, stress, loss, endings, bereavement, relationships, hopelessness, unfulfillment or just a general feeling of loneliness, unease or stuckness.
My approach to therapy is rooted in empathy, compassion, and non-judgement. I work in a relational way which means that I believe in the strength of the therapeutic relationship being a facilitating factor in the outcome of therapy. I can provide you with a safe, non-judgemental, compassionate, honest, and confidential space to help you explore the difficulties you are experiencing.
I work with both individuals and couples with a variety of presenting issues.
Prior to setting up private practice I worked as a counsellor in a palliative care setting. This included working with primary carers and individuals experiencing life limiting illness, anticipatory grief, bereavement and loss. I also have experience as a volunteer counsellor in a Young Persons Counselling Agency, working with children ( from 11), young people and primary carers with a variety of presenting issues.
I offer concessionary rates for student counsellors
