About me and my therapy practice
We all need a little help from time to time. Life has ebbs and flows and has a habit of presenting us with challenges. Most of the time we can cope with the difficulties, but sometimes we need a little extra support, and that’s what I can offer you.
As a fully qualified therapeutic counsellor and Registered Member of the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ. I provide a confidential, non-judgemental space where you can talk about whatever it is that brought you here;
- Relationship Difficulties or Breakups
- Past Traumatic Events
- Anxiety, Stress and Burnout
- Low Confidence or Self-esteem
- Low Mood, Feeling Sad and Depression
- Past Traumatic Events
While I enjoy working with clients who seek counselling for many different reasons, I specialise in two areas very close to my heart:
- Childhood trauma, in its many and varied forms
- Couples and Relationship Counselling
I also very much enjoy working with Trainee Counsellors. While I was studying, the course required me to be in personal therapy. During those sessions, there were moments of great sadness, frustration, laughter, anger, excitement and what felt like endless hours of self-analysis. It’s a journey I feel very privileged to share with Trainee Counsellors.
Maybe you are feeling sad or alone, or struggling with feelings of unbearable stress or anger, struggling with feelings of inefficiency, anxiety or depression. Maybe some parts of your life feel impossible, and the pressure is impacting your relationships or health. You might be dealing with current life events like losing a loved, difficulties within your romantic relationship or a relationship breakup. Perhaps your past continues to affect your present life and you feel as if you’ve lost your way yet can’t see a way out. You might even feel that there is no specific reason for feeling the way you do, but for some reason, you just can’t seem to "shake it off".
Whatever reason brought you here today, therapy can help you.
Practice description
I will not tell you what to do, but together we can explore whatever is troubling you, your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours and how it may be affecting the relationships within your life. Therapy provides you with a safe space to explore your reactions to events or within your relationships. Ultimately, you discover areas that you might wish to change or find different ways of coping, which will bring you to a point of a more fulfilled life.
I work with adult clients and couples from comfortable therapy rooms in Sidcup (DA14) and Tunbridge Wells (TN1) or online via Zoom.
Sessions are 50-minutes long, and they usually take place on the same day, at the same time every week. I understand that depending on your circumstances, this might not always be possible, so we can discuss this during our initial call.
My first session
Not knowing what to expect from therapy can be daunting, even more so if this is your first experience of counselling.
There are several different types of counselling and therapists, so deciding who will be the right one for you, might feel a little unnerving. If you think I might be the right therapist for you, please get in touch. We’ll set up a free 15-minute online or telephone chat to see what you would like help with. From there, we’ll identify if we are a good fit and take the next step together.
Our first therapy session will feel a little different from our ongoing sessions. I will be asking you several questions to find out a little more about you, who you are and what you hope therapy might give you. There may also be additional questions you wish to ask arising from our introduction call.
