About me and my therapy practice

Maybe life isn’t going how you want it to and you want to make changes. Maybe you want to work on things from your past that are impacting your life today. Maybe you aren’t sure what you want to work on but know that you don’t want to continue to feel or experience life as you are now. My practice is grounded in the belief that wherever you find yourself today makes sense given your life experiences. Our sessions together would offer a safe space to explore that. You’re not broken, you’re not doing it wrong. You’re human – we all experience tough times and need support along the way.

Practice description

I have experience of working with clients presenting with a range of issues including anxiety, depression, panic attacks, low self-esteem, relationship issues, grief and childhood trauma amongst others.

I am a qualified integrative counsellor - that means that my work uses a range of counselling theories to best support you.  I am an accredited member of Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ and have 5 years experience as a counsellor.

My initial training was a Foundation Degree in Integrative Counselling (University of Ulster). I continue to build on this through further learning with training completed including: Diploma in Developmental Trauma (IACP accredited), Internal Family Systems, Single Session Therapy, Attachment Theory, ASIST suicide prevention and Working with Anxiety.

My first session

I offer a free initial phone call to help you decide if I am the right fit for you.   In that call you will share a little of what is bringing you to counselling and get a feel for how I work.  I'd encourage you to speak to a few counsellors and trust your instinct on who you would like to work with as that relationship is so important to the process.  If I feel that I am not the best fit for whatever you are bringing I will be honest about this and suggest alternatives where possible.

If you decide to go ahead in our first session I will talk you through our contract which sets out how we will work together.  We will explore what you hope to get from counselling.  We can work together for an agreed number of sessions or on an open ended basis, whichever best suits your needs.
