About me and my therapy practice
I am a fully qualified Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ registered counsellor with a private practice in Ruislip, North West London.
My counselling experience has been enriched by my background in the corporate world. Prior to working as a counsellor, I have over 12 years of experience in the corporate world of media and broadcasting, and I am familiar with the pressures of working in a demanding and target-led environment. For more than 7 years I have also been training mental health first aid to businesses and individuals.
I have considerable experience in working with children, young people and adults. My area of work includes supporting people with mental health issues such as depression, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, self-harm, social and general anxiety, friendship and relationship difficulties, divorce or separation, emotional difficulties, emotional and physical abuse, trauma, bereavement, loss, post traumatic stress disorder, low self-esteem and bullying.
I also bring to my work first-hand knowledge of the challenges and stresses one can face in the workplace, with insight into the struggle to balance all aspects of our lives, both personal and professional, and of building and maintaining healthy relationships.
You don’t have to struggle alone. With a help of counselling, I can offer you space and time where we can explore and process your feelings and emotions, anxieties and struggles. Counselling can enable you to understand yourself better, your current situation or relationship(s), and build more self-awareness and confidence to make positive changes to your life and make better choices for your future.
Practice description
I understand the prospect of counselling can seem daunting, even terrifying, however talking to a counsellor can be the first step towards change.
I am passionate about mental health and well-being and am committed to making a difference to my clients’ lives.
I offer short term or long term, face to face and remote counselling via Zoom.
As an integrative counsellor, I draw on a wealth of resources to meet your own specific needs. My approach is flexible and creative. I have established therapeutic models such as Psychodynamic and those are incorporated as appropriate in my work. I am led by your needs and directed by what you want from the sessions. I would expect that our sessions might involve intense emotions at times. We can talk about the past and present, or focus on the future, again led by your needs rather than my interests. You could expect my approach to be supportive and warm rather than challenging.
I am a genuine, caring and empathic psychotherapeutic counsellor who is committed to help improve mental health and well-being by offering a safe, non-judgemental, confidential space where your feelings and emotions can be shared and explored.
My first session
It is common to feel worried or even unsure about what to expect from therapy, especially if you have never had one. During your first session I will explain how I work, the type of therapy I offer and I will go through our working agreement which covers confidentiality and privacy policy.
I will ask you some questions about you and your life so that I am able to make an initial assessment of your situation and have a better understanding of your issues. You will be able to ask me anything you want to know about my qualifications and experience and anything at all you don't understand or seems confusing.
