In a nutshell...

I'm here to support you in exploring your current feelings and experiences, while also helping you understand how your past might be affecting you. It's a combination of creating a safe space for you to talk and delving into the deeper layers of your experiences to promote understanding and growth.

It’s normal to feel nervous whether you are new to therapy, or even if you aren’t. Wherever you are, I will meet you there.I currently have availability, please contact me for more specific information.

I work with individual clients in both a longer-term and a shorter time-limited period. I usually suggest 4-6 sessions to begin with.

I am currently working online only, via Zoom. I provide weekly or alternate weekly, 50-minute sessions. All you need is a quiet, confidential place you feel safe to talk.

I do not work with children, couples or families.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a fully qualified counsellor and psychotherapist. I create a safe and non-judgmental space which I believe is crucial for clients to feel comfortable exploring their thoughts and feelings. My aim is to empower and encourage you as we delve deeper, helping you connect the dots of your life experiences and start to make sense of them. I prioritise your independence and self-discovery, aiming to empower you to make positive changes in your life based on your own values and beliefs.

I am registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ) having demonstrated high standards of competent practice by working under their ethical framework.

I am committed to ongoing professional development and my work is fully insured. I hold an enhanced DBS certificate, which means I am suitable to work with children and adults in a therapeutic capacity. Although, I currently only work with Adult clients.

I warmly welcome clients dealing with a range of challenges. I have experience working with issues such as bereavement, loss, child-loss, miscarriage, depression, cancer, anxiety, family and attachment issues, relationships, divorce, identity exploration, including supporting LGBTQ+ clients, sexuality concerns, suicidal feelings and ideation, self-harm, sexual assault, clients in crisis, abuse, addiction, anger management, PTSD, personal development, self-esteem, sex-related issues, social anxiety, and stress. Whatever you're facing, I'm here to provide a supportive place for you.

I also have experience working with clients to create crisis and safety plans if you’re feeling unsafe or suicidal. Safety planning is a structured and proactive way to help you plan a range of activities and sources of support you can use at the right time to help you prevent or manage a developing crisis.

Practice description

I blend two different approaches in my therapy practice, combining both Psychodynamic and Person-Centred models.

During our sessions, working within a Person-Centred approach I focus on you and your experiences, rather than giving you advice or telling you what to do. I believe that you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to help you gain insight, clarity and together we can work out the next steps.

At the same time, working within a Psychodynamic approach I’ll aim to help you understand how your past experiences, especially from childhood, shape your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours today. Listening carefully to what you say and how you say it, I’ll look for patterns and reactions. By exploring these together, we can gain insight into why you feel or act the way you do. They may also help you uncover unconscious thoughts or feelings that you weren't aware of before.

I have an in-depth knowledge working with all kinds of change, including loss and bereavement. Perhaps you have been left with feelings of uncertainty in your job or possibly relationships, with family members, partners or friends. Maybe these relationships are feeling more strained than usual. Losing someone or something you love can be very painful and may come with difficult and unexpected emotions, such as shock, anger, grief and guilt.

I have experience in working with young adults as well as people with greater life experience.

My first session

I offer a complimentary 20-minute Zoom introduction meeting where I'll listen to what you're hoping to achieve, offer insights into the therapy process, and address any questions you may have. Our first meeting together is an opportunity to get a feel for what it would be like to work together.

Importantly, there's no pressure to make a decision during this meeting. You're welcome to take your time to reflect and decide if we're the right fit. My priority is ensuring that you feel comfortable and confident moving forward with therapy and also that I feel as though I can utilise my expertise and be useful to you throughout the process.

Please do contact me with any more questions you may have.
