About me and my therapy practice
Seeking counselling can feel incredibly daunting, particularly if you are experiencing overwhelming feelings or emotions. Counselling can offer a space where you can be heard, accepted and supported in a non-judgemental and compassionate way.
I see therapy as a joint venture, with the therapeutic relationship being fundamental to bringing about change.
I am a fully qualified and experienced counsellor, working with adults and young people over the age of 16. I offer a warm, empathic and confidential space, where you can explore your personal difficulties and develop greater self awareness and understanding, which can lead to long term change.
My approach is person centred, which focuses on respecting each client's unique experience and supporting them to find their sense of agency and self belief. I also draw upon other modalities, such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and mindfulness, to best meet the needs of each client.
I work in an open ended way, offering both short and long term work, sessions will be guided by you and we will always go at your pace.
Over the years I have supported clients from a range of backgrounds and of various ages to overcome issues including; trauma, abuse, anxiety, depression, bereavement, sexual violence, grief and addiction.
My practice is based in Chorlton and I offer online, in person and outdoor therapy.
Being outdoors can provide a safe, supportive and therapeutic environment for counselling, particularly for clients who might find indoor sessions overwhelming.
I offer a free initial consultation (20 minutes) via phone or zoom. Together we can explore what has prompted you to seek therapy, and you can get an idea of what it might be like for us to work with one another.
