About me and my therapy practice
Hello, my name is Ruth and I will offer you a safe and confidential space to share your thoughts and feelings. Working together, we will find a way through the problems you’re currently facing and build resilience to tackle life’s future challenges.
How counselling can help
If you’re thinking about counselling, it’s likely that you’re feeling unhappy, stressed, anxious or depressed. Maybe you’re even feeling overwhelmed or burnt out. You might be hanging on to difficult experiences from the past or maybe you’re struggling with making the changes you want for the future. Counselling can offer you an opportunity to explore your feelings and find a way through to increased self-awareness and a more fulfilled life.
About me
I am a Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ registered professional counsellor. From my practice in South Manchester I offer face-to-face, online and telephone sessions.

Experience
I have 10 years experience working in the NHS, providing holistic support to patients, families and NHS staff.
I have worked as a counsellor for Macmillan Cancer Support for 4 years, supporting individuals dealing with bereavement. I also work with people facing diagnosis, going through treatment and living with and beyond cancer.
Prior to this, I worked in the charity sector for 15 years, managing and delivering helplines to those in need of emotional support.
Training and Qualifications
Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ Accredited)
BSc (Hons) Psychology
PG Certificate Nutrition
I have additional training and experience in the areas of anxiety, depression, menopause, bereavement, and cancer.

As part of my Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ accredited clinical supervision training, I am offering free online clinical supervision sessions for qualified counsellors and psychotherapists.
I can offer 1.5 hours per calendar month, in line with Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ professional requirements.
This is suitable for Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ members looking to fulfil their 1.5 hours of monthly supervision requirement, and also for therapists who are interested in supplementing their current supervision.
About me and my therapy practice
As a supervisor, I aim to create a collaborate, warm and supportive space for us to focus on your clinical work, as seen from different perspectives, using The Seven Eyed Model of clinical supervision (Shohet and Hawkins).
This model is relational, focusing on the relationships between the client, therapist, and supervisor, and also systemic, because it zooms out and examines the interplay between each relationship and their context within the wider system.
My style of supervision
My style of supervision is built on Person-centred principles, that emphasise a collaborative and empathic relationship between us as supervisor and supervisee. Rooted in the principles of person-centred therapy, my approach will foster an environment of trust and openness, allowing you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and challenges without fear of judgment.
I hope to encourage self-reflection and personal growth, while helping you to tap into your own resources and insights.
