About me and my therapy practice
Choosing a therapist, as well as the type of therapy, can feel quite overwhelming.
My approach is grounded in integrative, humanistic psychology, which comes from the belief that no single model of therapy will be suitable for every person. I work with you as an individual – a process that aims to explore issues central to you in a way that is non-judgmental and down to earth. As such, my practice is flexible and adapted according to your needs. I hope that my way of working will help you feel heard and understood rather than being offered advice or ready-made solutions.
I have extensive experience working with Eating Disorders (Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder, Orthorexia and OSFED) and have also worked with a range of different presentations including anxiety, depression, addictions and pre/post-natal illness.
Outside of my private practice, I lead a counselling and psychotherapy service for parents and carers of children with ASD and ADHD in a specialist neurodiversity organisation.
Additionally, I am the mother of two children and am hugely passionate about supporting clients through any period relating to parenthood, from (in)fertility, pregnancy, postnatal depression and any issues relating to parenting - including raising children with SEN.
I recognise it takes courage to seek help and that choosing the right therapist can feel daunting, so please email me if you would like to know more or would like to arrange a free initial telephone conversation to talk through how we might work together.
Practice description
LOCATION
My private practice is based in Fulham SW6. The rooms are safe, comfortable and easily accessible by bus and tube. On street parking is also available in the surrounding roads with many being free after 10:30am.
THERAPY ONLINE
I have been working with clients online and on the phone for over ten years. This is a very effective solution for anyone who cannot regularly get to my practice for face-to-face sessions. It is also possible to mix both, with some weeks in person and some on the telephone/online.
My first session
Usually, I suggest we meet for an initial consultation. This appointment is an opportunity to get to know each other and confidentially discuss what brings you to me, what you would like to get out of therapy, and how we might work together. There is no obligation to continue.
I will ask questions about you and explain what therapy involves. You will have the opportunity to clarify any questions or concerns you may have about the process of therapy and how I work.
Many people are intimidated by the thought of starting therapy and there can be a lot of fears about what to expect. I hope to make things as comfortable and relaxing for you as possible.
