About me and my therapy practice

Hi  and welcome to my profile! My name is Amanda (Mandy) Williams.  I provide individual adult counselling and I am an Accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, MÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ (Accred)

I am also a member of the National Council of Integrative Psychotherapists NCIP (Accred),  providing Couples and Relationship therapy.

Being a Qualified  Humanistic Counsellor means working to the Humanistic theory that we all naturally want to grow and change. However, sometimes circumstances or events hinder that process.

In our sessions, we  work together to identify those  blocks, to  growth, and discover new ways of perceiving challenges, to begin to move forward.

Each session is guided by your individual needs using a Trauma-Informed approach, I work safely and ethically and we collaborate on the challenges together.

Childhood and adult traumas affect the self-esteem and self-confidence, and can lead to lifelong effects as people struggle to cope alone . This can result in many negative effects, including feelings of social anxiety, depression and addictions to name just a few, and all of which can affect our relationships with others.

I have extensive experience of working within the field of childhood and adult sexual violence and trauma.

This extends to domestic abuse, coercive, controlling and unhealthy relationships, loss, bereavement and other traumatic experiences.

The important thing for you to know is that Counselling in the cove is a safe environment, where thoughts and feelings can be explored safely and without judgement.

Practice description

With advanced training in Couples Therapy, I hold the space for you to reflect and consider your individual and joint needs within the relationship.

Following your initial enquiry, I will contact you to arrange a free 20-minute phone call . Here I will explain a few things about the process, answer any questions you have, and discuss a suitable time and date for a   first session together.

We will also discuss the Contract which is a mutual working agreement on how we will work together. This is to ensure confidentiality and informed consent.

Individual Counselling sessions are from £55.00, last for 50 minutes and are payable in advance.

There is a concessionary rate of Â£50 (£300) payable in advance for block bookings of Six sessions.

Relationship or couples therapy also has a free 20-minute phone call as stated above.

The first joint session of Couples counselling  is £80 for 60 minutes, and payable in advance.

This will be where we discuss our Working Agreement further assess your needs and whether face-to-face or online Counselling is preferable.

For the Second session. I see both parties individually.  This is to view the relationship from personal perspectives. However,  I  cannot be held responsible for secrets that have not been disclosed to either party.
