About me and my therapy practice

I am a fully qualified psychotherapist offering counselling support to individuals who feel it is the right time to access this specific support. The counselling that I provide is an Integrative approach, which means that I combine the use of three different therapeutic approaches, person-centred, cognitive behavioural therapy and attachment to support you in the best way I can with the challenges you are facing. I offer sessions face to face, online or on a walk and talk basis and all sessions are 60 minutes. Therapy is led by yourself and I guide you through the sessions to support you in achieving your required goals.

At times therapy can be challenging as a lot is explored in the sessions but it can also be empowering and enlightening. Many adaptations in life come from times in which we move through a feeling of uncertainty because this brings an awareness to the opportunities that are available to us upon getting past this point, leading to a greater understanding of ourselves and our capabilities. I hope I would be able to support you on this journey and provide a secure space in which this exploration can take place.

Practice description

I have an MSc in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy which I studied at Derby University in 2018. Whilst studying I worked within three different placements, a college, an independent counselling provider and a support organisation for young people. I now work for a counselling organisation alongside having set up independently since 2021.

Before retraining as a psychotherapist, I worked within the education sector at first as a Teaching Assistant for a number of years after attaining a Degree in Education and then as a Child and Family Support Officer before pursuing my ambition as a counsellor to support individuals on a one-to-one basis when challenges in life arise.

I support both children and adults of varying ages with a range of difficulties, including, low self-esteem, trauma, anxiety, depression, substance misuse, bereavement.

My first session

Initially upon contact being made I offer a phone call to discuss the counselling support, the challenges you are facing and so that I can answer any questions you may have. From here we would then arrange the first session in which we would complete an assessment to ensure I am the right therapist for you and likewise to ensure you are happy continuing sessions with myself. This first session is charged at £40 for 60 minutes.
