About me and my therapy practice

Are you feeling blocked by your past, overwhelmed by present-day challenges or afraid of what the future holds? Maybe you’re struggling with depression, anxiety, low energy or mood swings, but don’t know why. Perhaps you’re ill or have lost someone you love. Or are you stuck in survival mode, going round in circles and repeating harmful patterns?

If you’re thinking about starting therapy, it's likely that you’re going through a hard time and are looking for some support to help you navigate this period and make some changes.

As your therapist, I will help you to explore what’s going on and how to give yourself the right tools to develop mental, physical and emotional resilience. We will go at a pace that feels right for you and through our work together, you will come to understand more about who you are, what you want and how to get there. My aim is to help you to strengthen your connection to yourself and the world around you, to experience joy, purpose and fulfilment, and to feel empowered to make healthier choices and be the page-turning hero in your life.

The search for who we are, how we fit in and what we want is a fundamental part of being human. Before becoming a therapist, I spent 20 years in book publishing and was a Managing Editor at Penguin Random House for 10 years. This work offered me the opportunity to travel and to get to know the different characters inside me: the adventurer, the shy schoolgirl, the nurturer, the wild wolf. I realised that therapy works in a similar way as by exploring our stories and what makes us tick, we can face our different identities and understand how they came to be and the complex ways in which they interact with one another. Therapy allows us to be seen and accepted for who we truly are – wild wolf and all – and to find the courage to show more of who we are to ourselves and to the world.

I welcome all enquiries and will respond to you within 24 hours.

Practice description

I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling from the Psychosynthesis Trust in London.

I recognise that each client is different, with individual backgrounds, needs and goals, and I tailor how we work together with this in mind. I work closely with my clients to optimise their wellbeing by considering all aspects of their lives, including nutrition, movement, mindset, sleep habits, lifestyle and stressors. I believe this is an empowering and impactful way to approach overall health, and to release stuck energy and trauma. I also help my clients to listen more to what their bodies may be trying to tell them, and I’m passionate about how our connection to nature can impact how we feel, heal and relate to ourselves and one another.

In our sessions, I may draw on guided imagery, meditation, breathwork, journalling and creative dialogue, as well as conventional psychotherapeutic techniques.

I offer brief counselling for shorter periods to look at particular issues, or longer-term therapy to explore what’s going on in more depth.

I support people with a range of issues and have personal and professional experience of grief, workplace stress, anxiety and burnout, chronic illness, parenthood, loneliness, and issues surrounding diversity and belonging. I am interested in working with people who are shifting (or thinking about shifting) into a new chapter – maybe that’s adulthood, parenthood, a new relationship, a new job or coming to terms with illness or loss – and I can help you to figure out what you want and how to move forward.

I offer 50-minute sessions, either online or in person at my practice in London, close to Richmond station.

My first session

If you are interested in working with me, the first step is to give me a call or send me an email. We will then arrange a free 20-minute introductory phone call so you can tell me a bit about what's going on for you and ask any questions you may have. If we are then happy to meet, we will agree on a time for an initial session.

The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and for you to tell me what brings you to counselling. You will get a sense of how we may work together and what it’s like to talk with me. We can then decide if we’d like to go ahead with further sessions.
