About me and my therapy practice
London is rich in diversity and one of the most ethnically diverse cities in the world. I have extensive experience in private practice working with family/partner dynamics, difference, belonging, identity, cultural issues and inter-generational trauma and understanding how these issues can affect people in the course of their everyday life.
I am keen to learn how we can work together to think about what may feel confusing and painful in a calm, confidential and non-judgemental environment, where self-care is front and centre.
In addition, over the last 16 years, I have also worked with vulnerable and marginalised adolescents and adults who have been subject to the criminal justice system, both within the community and prisons as well as psychiatric secure facilities. I have supported individuals, predominantly men, suffering from acute, chronic, and complex trauma, addiction, personality disorders, anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
I am currently continuing forensic psychotherapy work at the Portman Clinic (Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust) alongside private practice. I understand the importance of providing a safe and confidential space to allow clients to explore what may feel uncomfortable.
Practice description
I operate from consulting rooms in both central and west London. My west London location is in the heart of Chiswick, just off Chiswick High Road. It is easily accessible via tube/bus from the surrounding areas of Hammersmith, Ealing, Acton, Shepherds Bush, Hounslow and Richmond to name just a few. On street metered parking is also available.
In addition, I offer online therapy nationally via Zoom.
My first session
I normally schedule an Initial Consultation (two 50 minute sessions) with clients to help think together about your reasons for starting therapy.
It also provides an opportunity for us to think about possibly working together and how that would feel. I understand that starting therapy is a big commitment, not only in regards to time (it’s every week), but also financially and emotionally. It’s ultimately a long-term investment and it’s important to feel comfortable with the right therapist.
What I can help with
Abuse, Addictions, AIDS/HIV, Anger management, Anxiety, Bereavement, Cancer, Career coaching, Child related issues, Chronic fatigue syndrome / ME, Cultural issues, Depression, Health related issues, Identity issues, Loss, Men's issues, Post-traumatic stress, Relationships, Self esteem, Self-harm, Sexual identity, Sexuality, Stress, Substance Dependency, Trauma, Women's issues, Work related issues
Types of therapy
