About me and my therapy practice
I'm Jo, an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, which means I support you using a blend of modern therapeutic and more traditional approaches.
I provide a welcoming, safe space to explore personal difficulties, break old habits and navigate life’s transitions.
I have a Masters in Psychotherapy, a BA Hons in Psychology, and a Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ accredited Advanced Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling from the Minster Centre in London, one of the most respected therapy training institutions in the UK.
As well as running a private practice, I am the regular podcast host for a national mental health charity, where leading experts tell me about their clinical work and the latest in evidence-based research.
I have also worked as a volunteer counsellor for Mind and for a large group psychotherapy practice in central London.
I work according to the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ's Ethical Framework. I am also a member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)
As well as private referrals, I am registered with health insurers WPA health insurance, Aviva and AXA health.
Practice description
I offer therapy from two locations, both beautiful, calming consulting rooms in north London, or you can see me online.
You may have a specific problem you need help with or hope to become less overwhelmed in the face of challenge, uncertainty or change.
Often, anxiety is the starting point for therapy, be it worries around relationships, work, low self-esteem, identity issues, or a sense of not feeling at home in the world.
For others, it is not so much feeling too much as feeling too little. Be it sadness or depression, therapy provides a chance to explore how this might change.
I work with adults on both a short-term and open-ended basis.
Adults of all ages, backgrounds, cultures, sexuality and gender identity are welcome.
Sessions are weekly and each lasts 50 minutes.
My rooms are within easy reach of: Alexandra Park, Bounds Green, Wood Green and Muswell Hill; and Finsbury Park, Crouch Hill and Crouch End.
My first session
You won’t know if I am the right fit for you until we meet, which we can do either virtually or in person.
The first session is a chance to discuss why you are seeking therapy and to see if I feel right for you.
The initial consultation is discounted at £65
Ongoing sessions are £80-£100 (depending on time, venue and circumstance).
All sessions last 50 minutes.
