About me and my therapy practice
Is self-doubt derailing your life and stopping you from living up to your full potential? I help high-achievers, creatives and academics overcome the blocks and fears that are holding them back from living the life they want and are capable of creating.
Have you got the point where enough is enough and realise that something needs to change?
On ‘paper’, it might look like you’ve already achieved a lot but in spite of this you never feel enough. Perhaps you hold yourself to incredibly high standards and feel the need to be perfect. You might feel like you always have to do more, which leads to tiredness, exhaustion and maybe even burnout. You may have even been told that you’re an 'over thinker' or identify as that yourself.
Maybe you feel like you shouldn’t ‘rock the boat’ and often put other’s needs before your own and have difficulty setting boundaries, leading to stress and overwhelm.
Stop letting self-doubt get in the way of you living up to your fullest potential and living the life you really want.
Although this might feel impossible right now, therapy CAN help you achieve this by:
- Reframing unhelpful thoughts and beliefs so you can develop a more helpful mindset, that actually encourages and motivates you instead of judging and criticising.
- Teaching you strategies to manage stress and anxiety so you feel better able to cope.
- Helping you develop trust in yourself, so that you feel more confident in putting yourself forward and in setting boundaries.
- Resolving past issues so that you can move forward with purpose and clarity, without being tied to the past.
- Teaching you self-compassion so that you can feel more comfortable and content in yourself.
With the right support, you can learn to be the confident, courageous person you know you really are. You can feel worthy of taking up space and start to believe that you having something of value to offer to the world.
Practice description
With a background in academia and Fine Art, I know what the pressure is like to maintain certain standards and expectations. I know what it’s like to feel like you’re in constant competition with others (and yourself) and what it’s like to constantly compare yourself to everyone who’s ‘better’ than you. I can help you overcome these blocks and fears and transform your relationship with yourself through the powerful process of therapy.
I draw from lots of different perspectives and approaches to therapy which allows me to create a ‘holistic’ practice where your whole person and all the different parts of you are acknowledged and supported. I draw from more ‘traditional’ perspectives like CBT, ACT and DBT whilst also taking elements from Creative Counselling, IFS and mindfulness, to name a few.
Previous clients have told me how therapy has helped them to stop blaming and criticising themselves and how they’ve been able to move forward in their careers and improve their relationships so they feel more meaningful and connected. They’ve also told me how they no longer lie awake worrying or feeling anxious which has enabled them start enjoying life more!
Therapy does require commitment and at times, can be hard work. It is not an overnight cure but a way to create deep and meaningful change that is sustainable throughout the rest of your life. There may be highs and low, but I am here to support you through it all.
If you feel like I could support you, please get in touch to book an introductory call where we can talk more about what’s bringing you to therapy and assess whether we’d work well together. I’d love to hear from you!
Fees
- 30 minute introductory phone/video call - FREE
- 1 x 50 minute online/telephone session - £80
