About me and my therapy practice

Hello and a warm welcome.

As a therapist, I believe in the inherent worth and potential of every individual, and my therapeutic practice is rooted in the core values of Person-Centred Therapy. I strive to create a non-judgmental, empathetic, and authentic environment where clients can feel heard and supported. At the heart of my approach is the belief that each person has the capacity for self-awareness, growth, and change, given the right conditions.

In addition to the person-centred approach, I incorporate elements of the Pluralistic Approach to therapy. This means I work collaboratively with clients to explore a range of therapeutic methods, recognising that different individuals may benefit from different techniques and interventions at different stages of their therapeutic journey. I believe that therapy is most effective when it is flexible and responsive to the unique needs, preferences, and goals of each client.

By integrating the values of Person-Centred Therapy—empathy, congruence, and unconditional positive regard—with the flexibility of the Pluralistic Approach, I am able to offer a personalised and holistic therapeutic experience. This approach allows us to tailor our sessions together, whether through exploring emotions, working on practical solutions, or drawing from other therapeutic modalities that may resonate with your specific concerns.

Ultimately, I am committed to working alongside you in a collaborative process, empowering you to make meaningful choices, navigate challenges, and achieve personal growth.

I offer online, telephone, and face-to-face sessions tailored specifically to your needs, including a free 30-minute free online or phone consultation.  My response time to your initial inquiry is within 48 hours.

Face-to-face sessions in either Worsley M28 or Whitefield/Radcliffe M26, free parking is available at both locations.

Practice description

I hold an Advanced Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, a Masters in Organisational Psychology, and Certification in Coaching, and Pluralistic Counselllng and Psychotherapy. This enables me to bring evidence-based theory, practice, and experience to my practise. I regularly engage in learning opportunities to enhance the services I can offer.

The root of my therapeutic approach is person-centered which puts you at the heart of our relationship. I will not attempt to lead or direct you but will work with you to understand your concerns and needs and support you in working towards any changes or goals you may decide to undertake. Pluralistic therapy also forms part of my offer to clients - a collaborative approach that tailors treatment by integrating techniques from various therapeutic models based on the client's unique needs and preferences such as rewind (single session trauma), transactional analysis (relationships), attachment, mindfulness, to name just a few.

I bring extensive experience to working with adults from very different backgrounds and cultures and all age groups who experience a variety of unique challenges. I have experience and understanding of working with neurodivergent and neurotypical clients. I also support individuals from the emergency services including the police and the armed forces, both serving and veterans.

Each session is unique, just like you - we work with what is important to you and at your pace. When appropriate, I can integrate counseling with outcome-focused coaching to support our work toward any agreed objectives. I am also skilled in supporting clients to explore personality/behavioral preferences/tendencies that can impact both working and personal relationships.

My first session

I work with adults of all ages just like you who at any time are experiencing difficulties that often disrupt and disturb well-being, relationships, work, leisure, and life in general.

I offer a free half-hour introductory session where we can chat about your needs and explore if working with me feels right for you. Counselling and coaching needs to be a supportive and effective relationship and so it needs to feel right. Having the opportunity to talk it through before you commit will ensure you are making the best choice for you based on what you need.

In our first counseling session, we will get to know each other, start to build our therapeutic relationship, and begin to explore your aims in therapy with what you are bringing to the session.
