 Individual Counselling  and psychotherapy

Coming for counselling may feel daunting and I will put you at ease and create an environment where you feel safe and able to share what is on your mind.

Some people know exactly what they want to talk about, for others, they may not know exactly but just know they need to talk to someone. I will help you with this.

Maybe you want to discuss a current situation, revisit the past or make plans for the future. Whatever has bought you to counselling, I will help you to better understand how you are feeling and why.

I work in a dialogical way which focuses on an authentic and two-way interaction and I will work with you as a person, rather than solely focussing on your symptoms.

Through open two-way conversation, I will help you to explore your experiences, relationships, emotions and thought processes in order that you feel supported and understood.

I can help you process difficult issues and traumas, overcome challenges and understand areas where you may feel stuck.

I will help you challenge yourself, your thoughts and feelings and beliefs.

You can learn healthy ways to overcome patterns of behaviours and ways of being that may no longer be healthy or working for you.

You may want help understanding other people in your life and their behaviours, and together, we can unpick that and form an understanding.

You may feel stuck in an old narrative of your life and want help in creating a new one.

About me and my therapy practice

Couples and Marriage Counselling provides you both with an opportunity to present issues that are causing you concern, difficulty or distress, to someone who is trained in providing counselling and relational help and will help facilitate dialogue, listening and change.

Counselling can help you both learn to communicate together in a respectful way that helps you to both feel heard and understood.

You can learn new ways to resolve conflict within the relationship, set goals for the future and create a real partnership where you both feel valued and appreciated.

Couples counselling can help you see the blind spots you have within the relationship, understand how your behaviours affect your partner, heal old wounds and grow connections.

There may be feelings of betrayal, infidelity, unfulfillment or a lack of intimacy.

You may be a new couple starting out and just want to make a plan to move forward with your new life together

One or both of you may be considering divorce or separation and counselling provides a safe and controlled environment to be able to work through how this can be achieved with the least distress and with mutual agreement.

Awareness brings choice, personal responsibility and resourcefulness.

Couples counselling is available face to face only and is for both mixed sex and same sex couples.
