About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I'm Helen. I am a Counsellor specialising in menopause, POI, fertility, hormonal, women's health issues. I support people to navigate these times of physical and mental change - I will help you to make sense of your thoughts and feelings, make decisions or changes in your life that are right for you, and come to terms with things that can’t be changed.
My approach is practical, honest and friendly. I will accept and respect you and won't judge you or your behaviours. I believe all my clients have the ability to change, heal and grow, and counselling will support you to have the self-awareness, self-compassion, strength and focus to do this, when you feel ready.
My specialist training includes IMPART (menopause), CBT for Menopause Symptoms, Advanced Specialist Diploma in Fertility Counselling, The Inside of Autism, ADHD in the Therapy Room and NEDDE training (eating disorders/disordered eating and neurodivergence). I have a special interest in neurodivergence (especially ADHD and Autism) and how hormones impact our experience of neurodivergence and I am a qualified Clinical Supervisor, supporting other counsellors and psychotherapists with their casework.
I support my clients with:
- Peri/post-menopause issues
- Premature Ovarian Insufficiency (POI)/Early Menopause
- Infertility
- Fertility treatment e.g. IUI, IVF, Donor Conception, Surrogacy
- Pregnancy anxiety or complications, post-natal depression
- Miscarriage, stillbirth, and baby loss
- TFMR
- Trying again after loss
- Women's health/gynaecological issues, e.g. GSM/VA, POP, endometriosis
I also support my clients to explore:
- Neurodivergence (especially ADHD and Autism)
- Change, loss and life transitions
- Relationship difficulties
- Work issues
- Stress
- Low self-esteem
- Depression and anxiety
- Chronic health conditions (e.g. chronic fatigue/ME, fibromyalgia, auto-immune)
My interest in these areas of specialist work is informed by my lived experience.
Practice description
I offer online video and telephone counselling. In our sessions I provide a confidential, safe, relaxed environment in which you can talk through the issues causing you difficulties or concern and their impact on your mental health, relationships, sense of self, life plans, career and more.
I am integratively trained and incorporate different humanistic counselling approaches (including person-centred and Gestalt) and psychotherapeutic approaches (including Transactional Analysis and CBT) as well as somatic techniques into my work.
Join our online or telephone sessions from any quiet space that feels safe, where you won’t be overheard and you can access a good internet connection. Sessions are 50 minutes long (but please allow up to 60 minutes for extended discussion or amending session times). I also offer extended sessions of 90 minutes for anyone who would like more time each week.
Counselling sessions usually take place weekly on the same day at the same time, but can be more or less frequent or flexible, depending on your needs.
Most people work with me on an open-ended basis for as long as they feel they need, but some find a fixed number of counselling sessions is more appropriate. This is something we can agree together at the start and reassess regularly as your counselling progresses.
I work with clients based in the UK and internationally. If you live outside the UK please mention this when you contact me to ensure I can offer counselling to clients in your location.
My first session
It is important to find a therapist who you feel comfortable with and who is the right fit for you, so I offer a free telephone consultation for anyone interested in working with me to discuss why you are seeking counselling and how we might work together.
When we have arranged your first online video or telephone session, I will email you our counselling agreement and a brief form for you to complete before our first session, and details of how to access our sessions.

About me and my therapy practice
If you're looking for a warm and supportive online or telephone supervisor, I might be the right fit for you. You may be looking for ongoing supervision or perhaps you need single-session supervision to support you with a specific issue.
I am a qualified integrative therapist and clinical supervisor and my supervision practice supports counsellors and psychotherapists who are qualified or in training, who work with adult clients and young people (14+). I often work with supervisees who:
- plan to start, change or build successful private practices
- are neurodivergent (especially ADHD/Autistic) or who are working with neurodivergent clients
- are working towards Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ Accreditation
- are working with clients experiencing menopause, POI, hormone, fertility and women's health issues, or other long-term health conditions
I offer single-session or ongoing supervision.
When I am not working in my private practice with clients or supervisees, I am supporting counsellors and psychotherapists in online community spaces - please see my website for more details. I love a CPD course and podcast and I have a growing ‘wall’ of therapy books I intend to read!
If I might be the right fit for you, let's arrange an introductory call :)
Practice description
I offer online clinical supervision monthly, fortnightly, or flexibly, depending on your requirements.
My experience as a counsellor includes my private practice, The Menopause Therapist, where I work integratively with clients experiencing hormone, menopause, fertility, and women's issues; experience in a ’general’ counselling agency supporting adults with a range of presentations including anxiety, depression, relationship issues; and working creatively in secondary education counselling young people aged 14-18.
I trained integratively and I use PCT, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis and CBT in my practice, as well as somatic techniques. I worked creatively in person and I'm working on integrating more creative techniques into my online and telephone practice.
I am a qualified supervisor (Advanced L6 Certificate in Clinical Supervision Including Online and Telephone Working).
