About me and my therapy practice
At times you may feel as though you’re surviving rather than living, life at times can be challenging, you may find yourself sad or stuck in old patterns, such as people pleasing, which may be impacting life, relationships or work.
I can assist you in exploring the motives behind behaviors, unhelpful thought patterns and overwhelming feelings.
I recognise that everyone is different and there is no ‘one size fits all’. My therapy is tailored to your unique situation and I offer a range of different tools that can be employed to support you.
Therapy itself can feel quite daunting, especially if you have not experienced it before. I understand reaching out can be extremely hard, the courage it takes and how trusting others can feel even more difficult. With that said, I always strive to provide the absolute best therapeutic experience to my clients.
Bringing a warmth, friendly approach to the therapeutic relationship, I can offer you a safe and confidential space, where you can explore what is weighing on you and together, we can find a way through at your own pace, without being judged.
Practice description
The foundation of my practice is a person centred approach, though I may use elements of other approaches, where appropriate.
My aim is to offer you a safe non-judgmental and confidential space to explore what is going on for you at your own pace.
As a person centred counsellor, I believe that you are the expert in your own world and I will not give you advise or tell you what you should or shouldn’t do, instead I walk with you along your journey to help guide and facilitate your own self growth, as you will discover in time that you have all the answers you need.
My first session
The therapeutic relationship is key to counselling, so it is very important that you find the counsellor that is right for you. Finding the right counsellor can be challenging and for that reason I suggest having a brief telephone conversation before we start our sessions together.
This will give you a chance for you to talk about what has brought you to counselling and go through any expectations you may have. I will tell you a bit about the way I work and give you a chance to ask any questions.
Please do not feel any pressure on deciding there and then if you would like to work with me. I would encourage you to really think about if I feel like the right counsellor for you before booking any further sessions.
Each session will be for 50 minutes and we will meet on the same day, at the same time each week for the amount of sessions agreed on.
