Monday afternoon and eveningsAbout me and my therapy practice
I am a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist, working with children, teenagers, young people (up to 25years old) and parents. My approach is empathic, relational, playful and sensitive. I provide a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space for a child or young person to explore their feelings through talking therapy, creative expression or play. Creative expression is a helpful tool to process feelings and experiences that cannot be put into words and I often encourage my clients to use it. I work both, individually and systematically and am passionate about providing a therapeutic space which could help children and young people to deal with emotional difficulties, develop a better sense of self and improve their ability to thrive.
I also offer consultancy sessions to parents and feel passionate about empowering parents to be the best they can be and to parent in an effective way. All too often I come across parents who feel lost, don’t know what to do, how to talk to their children so they listen, what to say and how to say, so it would be helpful. Parenting is hard. It may evoke all sorts of feelings and it may be extremely difficult to stay emotionally balanced at times. Having a space to process anxieties, fears or just have a space to offload can help to keep more balanced and thus more able to support your children emotionally when they need that.
Practice description
I am integrative psychotherapist, integrative means that I integrate different modalities at my work depending on the need of the client.
My first session
I offer a free 15 minutes phone call to talk about any concerns you have so we could decide if to go forward. Contact me via e-mail to arrange an initial call.
Initial meeting - I meet with parents/carrers before meeting a child, to gather information about the child's life, including child's development, family history and life, it helps me have a better understanding of the needs of the child, so I could formulate the treatment plan to meet child's needs.
Reviews - I meet with parents regularly to discuss the progress of therapy and make amendments if needed. The frequency of the meetings depends on the age of the child and the needs.
