About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m Leanne Boden-Hughes, a registered member of the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ (Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ).
Are you feeling sad, anxious, stressed, or overwhelmed?
Are you wondering if counselling can help?
Do you feel that you should be able to cope and yet, even with your best-efforts, things are still not going the way you would like?I will provide and safe, confidential, and non-judgemental environment. At the core of the work is the emphasis on the two of us working together to help shine a light on what is happening in your life.
Sometimes it can be difficult to work out why you are feeling the way you do. In counselling, you will have the space to explore what might be at the core of the way you are feeling.
Making connections with your thoughts, feelings and behaviours can help you fathom out what is going on.
I often think that counselling is about helping you to understand yourself, how you relate to yourself internally and how you relate to others around you.
How does it work?
Well, in truth, nobody really knows. Two people sit in a room and talk, every week, for a set amount of time, and at some point you walk out the door no longer experiencing the pain, the shame, feeling numb or by fear. How? Why? There is increasing evidence that it is the relationship between counsellor and client that is at the very heart of change. The most important part of the counselling is that you and I are engaged in a collaborative undertaking and that we create a bond between us. There may be tears, and laughter in our sessions. I feel that both are equally as important to the work. It is crucial that you find the right counsellor for you and that you feel comfortable talking to them. With this is mind, I would encourage you to check a few out and see who you feel is the right fit.
