About me and my therapy practice

You may be wondering what led you here today. Sometimes we can experience lots of different thoughts and feelings and not quite understand why. Are you feeling low in mood or anxious right now? Have you lost someone or something important to you?

If you aren't sure what you need right now, don't worry. I am here to help you figure that out.

How can I help you?

Bereavement

Having spent several years supporting people grieving for loved ones, I understand the profound impact that grief has on us. It is a privilege to hear about my client’s unique experiences and although talking won't bring the person back, it is helpful to acknowledge how their death is impacting you. If you are feeling alone or carrying very difficult feelings of guilt or regret, for example, then counselling provides an opportunity to express this without any unwanted judgement.

Non-death Loss

I am passionate about supporting people as they come to terms with another type of loss they are facing. The word 'loss' covers so many different things, and we can often be grieving for something without realising. I wonder if you find yourself thinking about the life you had imagined for yourself v's the life you are living. Do you ever think "I didn't think I'd be here at this age" or do you regret earlier life decisions?

Chronic Illness

Loss of health is something that I am particularly passionate about because like you, I know the struggle that comes with being sick. I have been there and it's not easy. I understand how frightening it is when your body lets you down and the exhaustion that comes with having to go to various appointments, take medication and the side effects that can come with this.

In today's fast-paced world, our experiences of loss are quickly pushed aside as we are forced to 'get on with it'. I can offer you the quiet time you need right now to reflect upon your experience away from the noise of everyday life.

Practice description

Space2Talk is located in the heart of Fitzrovia just a few minutes’ walk from Warren Street tube station and is easily accessible from the following stations: Goodge Street, Great Portland Street, Euston Square and Regent’s Park underground stations.

I am located on the first floor of the building. There are stairs leading up to the counselling room and although there is a lift available, upon exiting there are a few steps back down into the room.

My first session

Before booking our first session, I suggest that we have a phone call to find out some more about one another and to see if working together might be beneficial.

Sessions are weekly and usually, will be on the same day, at the same time. However, I know that life is busy and will aim to be as flexible as I can and will offer alternative sessions where possible. I offer both short-term and long-term support and usually discuss what you would like this to be during our first session.

The therapeutic relationship is fundamentally important to the counselling process and is the most important factor which influences how effective therapy is.

If you would like to find out more, please contact me via email to arrange our first call. We can then have a chat about your hopes, expectations or worries about counselling and from there, we may be able to book our first session.
