About me and my therapy practice
I offer a confidential service in a safe and calm space for you to work through any experiences and feelings which bring you to counselling.
I have experience with clients bringing a variety of difficulties: depression, anxiety, loss and bereavement, post-traumatic stress, cultural stress and transition, relationship struggles, sexuality, the impact of trauma and abuse, sexual abuse and other forms of childhood abuse.
I have over 20 years’ experience of working with children and young adults in the care system through short & long-term fostering whilst navigating through early childhood trauma, neglect, rejections, abuse and attachment difficulties that can play through into adulthood in and out of the care system.
Volunteering as a counsellor at a national brain injury charity, I have been supporting adults with brain injuries, their carers and immediate family. I can help you explore the effects of the brain injury, the fatigue, the new version of yourself that you are left with and help come to terms with what others don’t see, as in many cases, even though the injury could have healed on the outside its what’s left inside that others can’t usually see that is the struggle. I can walk alongside you whilst you navigate this new version of yourself.
I am also a registered Fertility Counsellor with The National Fertility Society. I offer independent Implication’s counselling which covers all aspects of treatments, donations and implantation implications alongside Support Counselling which can help explore feelings around treatment options, success and failed treatments/cycles, the implications on your selves and your health, options available and timescales. I offer counselling to Donor Conceived Children/adult’s. Having completed specialist training with the Foundation for Infant Loss, equips me to work with issues around abortion, pregnancy, infant loss and subsequent pregnancy after loss.
