About me and my therapy practice

I have been working in the field of personal change and development for over 25 years. After working as a minister of religion for many years, I trained as a hypnotherapist, mindfulness coach and counsellor and I am currently training to become a Psychotherapist.

My work centres around the idea that we all have remarkable strengths and resources and the capacity for change and growth but sometimes we can get stuck.

Life can be complex and the tough times can leave us doubting ourselves, feeling low, isolated, anxious, or frustrated. Most of the time we are able to bounce back but there are moments when we need support, someone to talk to in confidence, and a listening ear.

Counselling and psychotherapy offer the opportunity to process difficult experiences, explore unpleasant feelings and to get in touch with our own inner strengths and resources.

My work philosophy is influenced by many roles in my professional life and more recently, my many years of training in Transactional Analysis, as well as being a husband, father and family business owner.

I aim to provide an open and safe environment, free from judgement, which allows you to speak freely so that we can work collaboratively towards agreed aims and goals.

Ultimately, we all want peace of mind and the freedom to live authentic lives of joy, connection and meaning, something that I believe is a journey of discovery, a journey which we are all on together.

Couples Counselling:

We humans are complex creatures - when you get two of us together, it can get more complex.

Mostly, this work involves promoting understanding, intimacy and learning how we can accommodate our own needs as well as the needs of our partner. Sometimes my work involves exploring how to best move forward when it becomes clear that a relationship is ending.

Practice description

I work from The Abbots Ripton Clinic where I have been based for the past 17 years.

Grove Farm Offices is located in a peaceful corner of the picturesque village of Abbots Ripton, a short drive from Huntingdon.

The lovely oak-beamed rooms offer a quiet and relaxing environment which lends to the work that all our therapists do.

My first session

The first appointment is slightly longer than the usual hour-long appointments by 15-20 minutes, allowing us the opportunity to talk through important matters and time to discuss what you want achieve.

It's important that you feel comfortable working with me and that I feel I can help.

When working with couples, each appointment lasts 1.5 hours.
