About me and my therapy practice
Qualifications:
I have a degree in Psychology, I am trained in Person-centred modality which is a humanistic approach that focuses on listening to client's individual and unique experiences.
I have also trained in Polyvagal practice which facilitates in bringing awareness to a clients’ biological nervous system response of fight, flight or freeze.
My way of working:
I use an integrative approach for the therapeutic process. My way of working is a mirroring process that allows the client to see themselves entirely and identify what they want to work through.
I offer in facilitating a safe, non judgemental space to allow client become aware, address and reflect on issues they want to move forward with. Simultaneously we look at how the body reacted to the situational experiences.
Client's will be able to identify by connecting the mind (psyche) and body (soma); how our emotions can impact our physiological reaction and how our physiological reaction impacts the narrative of our life journey.
Alongside talk therapy I utilise somatic, safety connection, resilience building techniques to reconnect the mind and body.
Practice description
I hold face to face, online and telephone sessions.
Sessions last 50-60 minutes.
Initially I do recommend weekly sessions. However, as the therapeutic work progresses, sessions may take place at wider intervals.
The amount of sessions clients need will vary and be discussed after the first session. After every fourth or fifth a review is carried out to analyse their effectiveness.
Everyone's pace is different so we will work at what is best suited to you.
My first session
Prior to first session I normally have a short 10 to 15 minute phone conversation to discuss and assess suitability for both of us.
The first session will be an additional 10 minutes to take further details.
