About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified Psychodynamic Counsellor with 4 years of experience, offering long-term and fixed-term therapy in Leicester City Centre and online.
My role is to provide a kind, safe, non-judgemental and neurodivergent affirming counselling space for you to talk through anything that is worrying you.
My specialism is in Autism, ADHD, and other areas of neurodivergence, and I have 10 years experience as an Autism Specialist Mentor, supporting autistic and AuDHD students in Higher Education for the National Autistic Society and within the university Student Support team.
I also work with loss and bereavement, ill health, ME/CFS, LGBTQ+, low self-esteem, and self-harm, and I can help if you are feeling anxious, stressed, depressed or just generally stuck in life.
Practice description
I offer long-term, open-ended psychodynamic counselling, in which you are invited to discuss anything that is troubling you. Working together, we can explore your world and any current issues you are experiencing, make sense of present and past events in your life, and discovering together how your significant relationships may shape how you experience your world.
Counselling sessions are 50 minutes long, on the same day and at the same time every week, either face-to-face at the counselling centre or online via Zoom, and you are free to end your therapy at any time.
Qualifications:
Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling.
Certificate in Online and Telephone Counselling.
Level 2 certificate in Mental Health Awareness.
Youth Mental Health First Aid.
Additional Training and CPD:
Autism Awareness Training with the National Autistic Society.
Self-harm and suicide awareness training with Harm-Ed
Internal Family Systems in Action (PESI)
The Science of ADHD - ADHD Adults UK
Working Within Diversity CPD with Myira Khan
ADHD and Productivity with Dr James Brown.
My first session
Following your initial contact via email, I will contact you to arrange our first session. (please check your spam folder if you haven't heard from me within two working days).
This will be an assessment session, which is different from our usual counselling session and will be either face-to-face or online.
The assessment session lasts for 1 hour and is for you to ask me any questions you have about the counselling process, and for me to ask you a few questions to find out a bit more about why you would like to come for counselling and what you would like to get out of it.
It is also an opportunity for you and me to see if we are a good fit to work together.
The assessment session is £30 and counselling sessions are £55.
