About me and my therapy practice

With over 15 years experience, I can offer you personalised and thoughtful counselling, EMDR, solution focused therapy or art therapy.

I have extensive experience of working with adults, children and young people who have difficulty with anxiety, trauma and PTSD, low self esteem, work related stress, learning disability, people of any age who are stressed and unhappy, or who have experienced loss or traumatic events.

After several years working with mainstream and specialist education, I now have a private practice where I offer personalised and thoughtful therapy to support individual well being. Working creatively can really help untangle our thoughts and feelings leading to improved self esteem and hope. I work psychodynamically, short and long term, working with you towards agreed outcomes. I am also trained in EMDR, solution focused brief therapy and offer counselling. EMDR is a treatment that is very effective for managing the impact of trauma and where memories of trauma are causing distress or difficulties in everyday life.

Some people come to art therapy because it is difficult to find words that adequately describe their experiences. Some people choose this out of a sense of things just not feeling right; in this case art therapy can help bring meaning and satisfaction into their life. I work across age groups and abilities including children aged 10 and over, teenagers, young adults and adults. Please take a look at my website for more information www.arttherapyworcester.co.uk . I am a state registered Art Therapist with the .

If you are curious about how counselling, art therapy or EMDR can help please get in touch. I will be happy to talk with you and aim to respond promptly.

Practice description

I work from a peaceful, rural setting with lovely views within a short distance of Worcester and with good access to the M5. I have an MA in Art Psychotherapy Practice and work in an integrative way combining good counselling skills with creative thinking. I use lots of different techniques and like to attune sessions to your interests and needs. Sessions may involve CBT, mindfulness, mind-body work, story telling and art work all of sorts.

I often work with people who have found talking therapies difficult or with young people who are struggling to find the words for what is troubling them.

I work face to face and have a Covid-19 risk assessment in place that I can discuss with you. I also work online.

There are friendly cats on site so please let me know if you have an allergy or would prefer them not to be in the building.

My first session

In your first session we will talk about what has brought you to therapy and what you hope to get from the process. You will be able ask questions and think about the way you would like to work. We will work together to create an individual, highly personalised approach to your therapy that we both feel is achievable.

Where the referral is for a child or an adult who needs support, then the first meeting will need to involve the referrer, parent or guardian.

Children and young people can feel nervous about coming to therapy so the first session is very relaxed and focuses on making them feel safe. Sessions can be creative and fun; this is so I can make sure it feels safe enough for the child/young person to put trust into the therapy and working with me. I enjoy working with young peoples interests and this can be a useful way of exploring creative therapy.
