About me and my therapy practice

Hello, and welcome to my page.

I am a fully qualified, accredited, therapist, working with adults and young people (age 15+).

I work in an 'integrative' way, tailoring support to my clients' needs. This means that I use both talk-therapy approaches and more creative techniques, depending on personal preference and presentation. For example, I may use specific, evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, to help someone manage symptoms of anxiety, or take a more organic, explorative and creative route with someone with less specific issues. I also frequently integrate the two. I am trained in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) and Person-Centred and Creative Therapy. I am also a fully qualified 'Cyber Therapist', which means I can provide sessions remotely via video.

I believe that through exploring thoughts, feelings and behaviours, in a safe, non-judgmental space, individuals are able to access tools within themselves to better manage their lives. So much emotional and mental discomfort is rooted in a poor sense of self-esteem/identity, and I work with clients to try to uncover what feels authentic and meaningful for them.

I take an attachment-informed perspective in much of my work, as I believe that upbringing can provide important information about present-day struggles. Once an individual becomes aware their internal 'pattern' of behaving/responding could be rooted in the past, they have more options for going forward in their lives.

Practice description

I provide face-to-face sessions from premises in central Stirling, and remotely via video.
