About me and my therapy practice
LGBTQ+ Counselling Brighton Online
Are you LGBTQ+, anxious or misunderstood in your relationships? Feeling tired and frustrated not knowing what to do? Do you feel guilty asking for what you want in relationships? Is feeling 'not good enough' leaving you wondering if you are missing out or holding you back?
Working with me can help you find your voice, encourage assertiveness, start healing your pain, and increase your confidence which can mean that you are less fearful, enabling you to find a deeper sense of self acceptance. You will start to feel contentment and freedom. Freedom to be who you are, without any apologies and break free from the suffocation of old behaviours. This can empower you in deciding who and how you want to be, and to make different choices more respectful of yourself and enjoy happier relationships.
With 25 years of nursing experience, my therapy training and volunteering at Mindout LGBTQ+ Mental Health Charity, I endeavour to treat every individual with the kindness I needed during my most challenging times. Working with a diverse range of people over the years means that I meet my clients with care and sensitivity whatever their personal circumstances.
I also integrate the Compassionate Inquiry (CI) approach into my work. Dr Gabor Mate says "The purpose of the Compassionate Inquiry is to drill down to the core stories people tell themselves unconsciously; what those beliefs are, where they came from; and guide them to the possibility of letting go of those stories, or letting go of the hold those stories have on them."
I adhere to the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ ethical framework and I am fully insured, and hold an enhanced DBS certificate.

WHAT IS YOUR COUNSELLING PROCESS?
I offer a free half an hour no obligation telephone or zoom consultation where you can tell me about your situation and what you are looking for, ask me questions and get a feel for how I work.
1, If you decide that we’re a good fit, you book in the first session
2. During the first session we discuss: what we are trying to achieve (so that our sessions are purposeful) and we agree what our responsibilities are as both counsellor and client
3. We regularly assess progress together to make sure we remain on track
4. You might decide to extend counselling if additional issues arise, or you might even get to where you want to be faster than expected.
