About me and my therapy practice
Clare Dackombe - Dip. Couns. MÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ (Accred.)
Before you read about me, I first want to say that I hope you find the help you are seeking and that you find the right support to help ease any suffering that you may be feeling.
Asking for help is not always easy, it can feel daunting to make contact or to know who to choose. I will meet you with warmth, compassion and above all hope. This is why I became a counsellor to offer a hopeful environment even when life feels impossibly challenging.
I will help you with your wish for personal change, maybe you are struggling to cope, feeling powerless or desperate. I will support you by being alongside you and helping you to discover your own resources and strengths. My belief is that we are each unique and possess what we need to live more fulfilling lives where we approach adversity and loss with increased resilience. This is how I see my role, it is to offer you a hopeful, empathic environment where we explore and notice what is helpful and unhelpful to you so that you can connect with your own resources to achieve the personal change you seek or to reduce your suffering.
Practice description
How counselling can help
I offer a non-judgmental space where I will listen to you empathically. My approach is humanistic and this means that I believe in our own ability to grow and change and that all aspects of ourselves matter if we are to achieve the change that we want. If you want to know a little bit about my theoretical background it is integrative; a blend of Person-Centred, Gestalt and Transactional Analysis. What this means in practice is that I will help identify your goals with you. I will walk alongside you with compassion and we can notice together what is helpful to you throughout your journey. This might include recognising unhelpful patterns that keep you from your goals and clearly expressing your needs. If you would like to explore problems creatively I can offer ways that we can achieve this even working online.
