About me and my therapy practice
My aim is to help you better understand yourself and find more manageable and meaningful ways to live. I love the work I do, and I'm passionate about the benefits of talking therapies that can help individuals to transform their lives.
You don't have to struggle with whatever is hard for you right now alone. Working with a professional provides you with a compassionate witness for your story and someone who can work with you to bring more ease into your life. Anxiety, depression, life stress and low self esteem are experienced by many people. Making space to be supported in this is a brave step that shows yourself, you matter.
My areas of expertise and experience include:
Understanding and harnessing perfectionism
Living with ADHD
Life transitions
Low self-esteem and identity issues
Living a childfree life by choice
Enmeshment and Abandonment issues
Loss and Grieving
Childhood emotional neglect
Complex dysfunctional family dynamics
Dating/Relationship issues
I help clients to reach a deeper understanding of their issues allowing them to make changes and move forward. My approach is direct, supportive and challenging. I’m not the kind of therapist who sits, stares and says nothing! I will listen with curiosity and care, but I am also here to gently challenge you and offer you insights to help guide you to realisations. Sharing parts of ourselves can feel vulnerable so it’s really important that you choose someone you feel comfortable talking to as the quality of the relationship between client and counsellor is key to good therapy outcomes.
I offer a 15 minute free initial consultation by phone for us to get a sense of each other. This gives you an opportunity to ask any questions about me or the counselling process.
If you would like to find out more about having counselling with me, please contact me via email with a brief outline of why you are seeking counselling at this time.
My first session
We begin with a minimum of 6 sessions, this is to give you enough time to properly explore what has brought you to therapy.
Our first session together will be a continuation of our first conversation.
It is an opportunity for you to talk freely and share with me what feels important. I will ask questions to guide you along the way.
