About me and my therapy practice
Are you finding mid-life difficult? Juggling the demands of children, partners, ageing parents, work and home? Maybe you have lost someone close or have recently split up from a long-term partner? Perhaps you have been diagnosed with a serious illness or you care for someone who has? If you are a woman, maybe the onset of menopause has destabilised you? Or maybe you are feeling a deep sense of loss as your role and identity in life changes?
Whatever your individual circumstances, the events of mid-life can be challenging to our mental health. It is a time of change which can give rise to a variety of difficult emotions. These feelings can be hard to manage on our own and how we deal with them impacts not only ourselves, but those close to us.
Counselling can help us through this time of change. Talking about what is going on in our lives in a confidential, non-judgemental environment allows us to explore how we truly think and feel about our problems. It can help to make sense of our experiences and help us see different perspectives. As we begin to gain a deeper understanding of ourselves, we start to positively influence how we deal with things in the future, building and strengthening our ability to cope and allowing us to move forward in a more empowered way.
If you are finding mid-life tough, then please get in touch. I am a person-centred counsellor and psychotherapist holding a Master’s degree (Distinction) in Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of Salford. As a registered member of the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ, I adhere to their Ethical Framework. Whilst I counsel adults of all ages, I have a special interest in mid-life and the menopause.
Practice description
I work face to face from my counselling room in Altrincham, Cheshire, online or by telephone.

We will regularly review how you are finding the counselling to ensure that our time together is working effectively for you.
