I operate a virtual therapy practice, primarily through Zoom, allowing me to connect with clients wherever they may be, both within the UK and internationally. This online format offers flexibility, comfort, and ease for those who prefer or need remote sessions. Whether you're located close by or in a different time zone, I'm committed to accommodating your needs.
If you're interested in starting your therapeutic journey with me or have any questions about the process, please don't hesitate to email me. Together, we can arrange a session that fits seamlessly into your life.
About me and my therapy practice
I believe in the transformative power of genuine human connection. As a therapist, I take a primarily person-centred approach. This means I prioritise understanding and aligning with your unique experience and perspective. However, I also appreciate the depth that comes from integrating other therapeutic modalities. At times, I might draw upon psychodynamic insights or employ CBT tools to ensure our sessions are tailored to suit your individual needs.
Counselling, in my eyes, is not just for those in crisis or going through significant challenges. It's for anyone who seeks a compassionate, impartial perspective from someone trained to offer support. It's a sacred space where you can be your true self, openly sharing your thoughts and feelings, knowing they'll be received without judgement or bias.
Every person's journey with therapy is distinct. Some come seeking clarity about painful areas of their lives, others look for validation or a space where they truly feel seen and heard. Some might only need a periodic check-in, while others might be navigating profound transitions. What remains consistent is my commitment to ensuring that each individual or couple feels safe, respected, and understood as we collaboratively explore their concerns.
Practice description
Therapy is about discovery, and I enjoy empowering my clients to dismantle ideas they have walked with for most of their life so that they can make room for greater fulfilment.
I am particularly curious about hegemony and intersectionality with a portion of my work being focused within the LGBTQI plus community which I also belong to.
Additionally, Black Identity and Trans-generational trauma along with the habits, behaviours and styles of communication the self develops along the way which has the power to distort, shape, limit and erode relationships.
Life is complex, and navigating the world and those we share it with can be complicated, especially when we don't understand who we are or don't feel at peace with the version of identity we put forward.
Together we shall work together along the path of self discovery, pain, mourning, healing and growth.
My first session
Your first session – what to expect ?
In our first session, I will introduce myself and explain that today is an opportunity for me to make some notes about your family and medical history as well as notes around what brought you here today. This helps me to understand a little more about your needs and the type of therapeutic methodology that would be a good fit.
Sometimes if I am not able to provide you with the type of counselling you require, I may be able to refer you onto another Therapy service provider.
