About me and my therapy practice
For counselling to be beneficial, the relationship between client and counsellor is key. I am interested in people as unique individuals. I am calm and gentle and I aim to slow down thought processes so that we can explore together what is going on for you. I offer empathy, warmth and consistency in my approach. Our counselling sessions offer you a confidential and non-judgemental space within which we can explore your concerns.
People seek counselling for different reasons. It could be that you are at a crisis point in your life, or that you have realised there are things you wish to understand more fully about yourself or something that you want to change.
As a counsellor, I will not tell you what to do, advise or steer you. As a client, you know yourself best and accessing counselling is a way for you to discover your own path. Together we can explore and question the ways in which your past affects your present. Counselling offers a safe space in which to do this with a trained professional who has no agenda of their own.
Practice description
I am a fully qualified counsellor and registered member of the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ. My approach is psychodynamic, which means that I focus on the relevance of past experiences to present day issues.
I have experience in working both short and long-term. Brief counselling can be beneficial for clients who wish to focus attention on a particular issue or relationship dynamic.
My first session
If you contact me by phone or by email, I will offer you a free 30 minute telephone consultation where we can discuss how counselling might work for you. During this conversation you will have a chance to ask me any questions about counselling and tell me a little bit about what you are hoping for from your counselling.
