About me and my therapy practice
I believe counselling is where heart and soul connect. I take a holistic approach in counselling to balance physical, mental/emotional and spiritual well-being. When life is difficult and uncomfortable, our instinct is to fight or move away from it. I offer a safe space to explore obstacles and find a way forward so you can let go of what doesn't serve you anymore. I provide a place for you to be seen, heard and valued. My professional experience outside of therapy encompasses social work, adolescent services, women's health care, and special educational needs. I have experience working with Abuse, Trauma, Anxiety, Depression, Eating Disorders and Body Dysmorphia, Gender Identity, Relationships, Self Harm, Sexuality Issues, Neurodiversity and Sensory Integration. I work with adults and young people over twelve years old.
There is no one-size-fits-all in therapy. I tailor each session to accommodate and reflect your unique life experience by talking it out using art therapy, guided imagery, relaxation, and therapeutic techniques. Practice description
As a therapist, I guide you in reflecting on your past, present, and future so that you can live healthier and more meaningfully.
I offer a safe space where you can explore difficult issues and feelings causing you distress and decide what to do with them.
I tailor our sessions to meet your needs using integrative approaches, including Person-Centred, Existential, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Intuitive, Transactional Analysis, and Mind-Body.
During the session, I will share my thoughts, feelings and perceptions in empathic and sometimes challenging ways.
My first session
I offer a free 15-minute initial consultation. This allows us to discuss your needs and address any questions you may have.
The initial consultation is an opportunity to get to know each other and feel comfortable. It is also a time to determine whether my experience and skills match your desire.
This first session will include introductions, contracting and a chance for you to tell your story and explain the problems you are experiencing.
