About me and my therapy practice

Contact me for a free informal 15 minute chat, to explore the possibility of how talking to a counsellor may be helpful.

Personalising therapy to the individual by integrating various counselling skills and knowledge of how an a person is affected by: Stress; anxiety; depression; social isolation; depression; abuse; identity; neurodiversity specifically ADHD and Autism; alienation and PTSD.

Practice description

Experienced in dealing with trauma/anxiety/stress and depression. How this affects our ability to function, making it difficult to control emotions and thoughts.

Feeling disconnected or overwhelmed; feeling low or numb; just not being able function or feeling like you can't switch off.

Using psycho-education to give an overview of why this happens,  then exploring the underlying issues.

With trauma I will not ask you about the past or the event, we will focus on what it has left you with. Going at your pace, as you are the expert on yourself. Using tools and techniques, together we work on how this is impacting you now.

In addition to private practice I have worked for over five years for a local charity, counselling individuals for domestic violence, sexual abuse, PTSD and depression.

My first session

Our first session would be finding out more about you, how the current issues are affecting you and what impact this is having on your well-being. Some of this session will be going through a contract and confidentiality.

My role is to listen, not give advice or tell you what to do. What we can do is together look at tools that may be effective in helping you, and explore ways of looking at a situation or issue differently.
