About me and my therapy practice

I am a Psychotherapist offering therapeutic support to people during distressing & traumatic times, and beyond. If you are feeling anxious or alone, due to relationship difficulties, bereavement or trauma,  I believe making time to be heard and understood by a safe and trusted counsellor can help you cope, heal & thrive. To find out if I might be the counsellor you want to work with please email me or leave a voice mail.

Anxiety, Bereavement, Relationships. Feelings of anxiety and grief can feel as if the rug has been pulled from beneath everything you knew about your world. The feelings of confusion, anger, anxiety & distress overwhelm everything else. Even small familiar tasks & routines are experienced in a strange way. Whether your anxiety and distress is expected, or unforeseen, you may feel confused about how life is and shocked that your resilience seems to have vanished.

If you are in a relationship that is not working for you might be feeling very hurt, angry, alone or frightened. The person you share your life with may no longer seem to understand or be the right fit for you. This can feel devastating, anxiety provoking & unsafe. To be alone in a relationship is acutely painful. Confronting the longing to be loved & cherished, but finding you feel dismissed, abused or rejected is a deeply painful process.

You may be finding that an old trauma that you’ve lived with has surfaced. Life at the moment has added huge stresses making what was easier to carry within a huge strain now. Old wounds are painfully exhausting to carry, difficult to contemplate sharing and hard to imagine they can be overcome.

Practice description

Counselling & Psychotherapy can help. Even when surrounded by family &friends it can feel hard to share the full force of your experience of anxiety, grief, trauma or relationship crisis. In counselling I offer this space. Time for you to be heard, understood, express the depth of your feelings. I listen to your whole experience, understand your feelings and help you to explore the change & uncertainties you are facing. There's no judgement here, whatever you're feeling, it's safe to speak. I listen carefully to your sense of what you need and together we work at a pace that is suited to you, either short, or long term.

Getting in touch. Reaching out for help is brave & hopeful step. There's no obligation, just drop me a brief email, or call me, to introduce yourself. We can arrange a time to talk. This initial call is free. You'll tell me a bit about you and what you need from counselling. You will also learn little about how you feel talking with me. From there, if you feel comfortable, we can arrange to meet for the first time. hello@thrivebeyondcounselling.co.uk

I usually reply the same day, within office hours. @ hotmail users please check spam for my reply
