About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I'm Sarah - welcome to my profile. I am a qualified, experienced counsellor- my training enables me to support and empower you to make change towards a healthier and happier way of being. I work flexibly and can adapt my approach to suit your individual needs.

Counselling can help you to learn new coping skills, gain clarity and perspective and find relief from difficult or overwhelming feelings.

Issues I commonly work with are: anxiety, childhood trauma, low self-esteem, bereavement and loss, family/relationship issues, work stress (inc education sector), attachment issues, shame, depression and low mood.

I offer a professional counselling service with a genuine, warm and compassionate approach. Call me 07925 331 826 or email therapieswithsarah@gmail.com for a free initial chat to see if I am the right counsellor for you.

Practice description

As a person-centred counsellor I will really listen and hear how it is for you, in your world. I offer respect, empathy and non-judgement within the counselling relationship, allowing you a space to feel validated, heard and understood.

CBT skills are used alongside talking therapy, where appropriate, to work towards your goals in a more solution-focused way. Exploring the links between thoughts, feelings and behaviours can increase self-awareness and identify areas for change.

My approach is client-centred, meaning your well being and best interests are always at the heart of the work in therapy.

My first session

The first session allows us to meet and discuss your reasons, hopes and expectations around coming to counselling. It is also an opportunity for you to identify some goals for your therapy.

Sessions provide a confidential, safe space where you are able to talk about your difficulties, without feeling judged.

The relationship is key in counselling, a space where you will find acceptance and learn to be more accepting of self. We will always work at your pace and focus on what you feel is most important.

The first session is the first step towards making positive change.
