About me and my therapy practice

Clients have found that I offer a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space in which to explore and reflect on whatever issues or problems they might bring. Whether the trigger for seeking help is a one-off event or simply feeling ‘stuck’ in one’s life, I believe that counselling or psychotherapy can offer us the opportunity to gain a better understanding of how we function in the world and through self-reflection, increase our ability to cope with whatever life presents, as well as enriching our enjoyment of life and relationships with others.

This is where I, as a counsellor, can help. I have experience of working with individuals (adults and young adults) in both short- and long-term therapy.

I am a Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ Registered integrative counsellor, which means that I am listed on the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ  voluntary register.

I am an integrative counsellor which means I incorporate a number of different schools of thought into my practice including:

Psychodynamic

Relational

Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)

Person centred

Humanistic

Existential

The therapy is tailored according to the needs of the client. I work with individuals in short and long term therapy.

Through exploration therapy hopes to enable us to live a more fulfilling life and reach our full potential in the face of life's challenges.

Practice description

I am a fully qualified integrative counsellor and a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapy (MÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ)

My role as a therapist is to work alongside you to help find ways to understand and address the issues you may be facing. My approach is to build a safe, trusting and confidential environment that challenges and supports you but also encourages self-awareness, resilience and personal growth.

My therapeutic approach is integrative which means I can draw upon different skills and techniques (Humanistic, Psychodynamic, Existential, Cognitive Behavioural) that may best support you and your personal goals.

My client range is varied, in that I familiar and experienced in working as an Occupational Health consultant for large international management consulting firms and also providing Occupational Health support within the public sector with Local Authorities. Additionally, I am equally a listed Occupational Health provider for Vitality Health insurance.

As well as my two London based practices, I also provide a counselling service within a NHS GP surgery, and a Drug and Alcohol charity. Along side my private practice, I work as a 'Specialist Mentor' Higher Education (HE). providing support to students (with a mental health diagnosis) across 350 Higher Education Providers (HEP) in the UK.

My expert knowledge is also used to provide guidance in globally read articles, such as the Huffington Post, now known as HuffPost

My first session

Before starting therapy we will meet for an initial assessment. This is a mutual assessment. Our initial assessment will be an opportunity for us to talk and for me to get an understanding of what it is you would like from therapy and also an opportunity for you to get an understanding of how I practice.

The first session will last 50 minutes. The initial assessment and all sessions thereafter are held in strict confidence.

To enable counselling to be effective and therapeutic you need to feel comfortable with me, therefore our first meeting will be a mutual assessment for both of us to see if we can work together and to explore how counselling might proceed.

If we decide to work together we will establish an agreement about the fee, and also which day and time we will meet each week.
