About me and my therapy practice
Hello, are you feeling overwhelmed, unhappy or stressed with the rhythm and challenges that life throws at you ? or just not feeling your the person you once were. I am here to work with you to help you reach a deeper understanding of your world. Working together to help you find your inner strength and resilience, equipping you to confidently live a more fulfilling future.
I am here to listen and walk beside you on your journey and I can offer you a safe non-judgemental space for you to explore what is troubling you either through talking and listening or being creative.
I work with Couples, Adults and Children 15+ with the aim to help you with the challenges you are facing based on trust and respect in a non-judgemental, confidential environment.
Practice description
In addition to my private practice (Purple Steps Counselling) I work as a Secondary School counsellor and volunteer at Reach Out Hertfordshire, supporting the elderly. Previously I have worked/volunteered as a counsellor at South Bucks Hospice, Time to Talk (adolescent counselling service) One Recovery Bucks and The Chilterns Neuro Centre.
I work in an Integrative way which allows me to understand your world from many different perspectives and we can work together in a way that suits you. We are all different and so you might like to just talk or perhaps you express your feelings and emotions better in a creative way through play, drawing, painting, sand tray etc.
I have extensive experience with many different issues that people have been experiencing and the areas that I focus on include:
Depression, grief and loss, anxiety, generalised anxiety, social anxiety, low mood, feeling sad, family issues, trauma, relationship issues, work-related stress, stress, self harm, suicidal thoughts, long term illness, life limiting illness.
I work from a Hut in my garden and there is parking on my drive.
My first session
I offer a free 15 min session either via Teams or over the phone to see if you feel we could work together. If you decide to go ahead with sessions then our first session together would be getting to know each other at your pace. The relationship is very important and I will be lead by you.
