About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified accredited integrative therapist offering a confidential and understanding service for adults, children and young people who are facing a range of challenges and emotional difficulties.

My practice is largely informed by Internal Family Systems & Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, with interest in how our nervous system stores experiences within our body. I will work with you to understand how your experiences connect to you in the present day and explore how you can access inner healing or transformation.

There are many reasons why an individual seeks counselling, and I understand that it can feel like a big decision where you may feel nervous, uncertain or vulnerable.

My first step is to offer you a safe, non-judgemental space, where you will feel able to explore your own thoughts and feelings. This offers you space to understand the underlying feelings that can make you feel low, stuck, empty or overwhelmed. During our first interactions I will provide you with the information that you need to make an informed decision regarding your therapy, where we can work through the areas you would like to explore at a pace that you are comfortable with.

Having supported people in the public and voluntary sectors for over 13 years, with focus around working with those affected by domestic and/or sexual abuse. I have gained experience working with a variety of mental health challenges, abuse and other traumas, addiction, bereavement/loss, anxiety, stress and relationships issues. Understanding the impact that these experiences can have upon a person’s life has helped me develop a compassionate approach to my work.

I offer both short-term and long-term therapy (via zoom/telephone) to suit the needs of the individual.
