About me and my therapy practice
Would you like to connect with someone who has felt how you may feel? A counsellor with lived experience of life’s challenges and imperfections. With someone who has experienced emotional pain, anxiety, confusion, despair, trauma, a difficult childhood, difficult relationships, chronic illness, low mood, feeling sad, unhappy, angry, in despair, hopeless?
I get it, I understand and I deeply care about people.
My name is Naomi, I am in my mid 40s, I am a Mum, a wife, a daughter, a sister, a friend, a dog Mum, and a lover of people, nature, and animals!
Would you like a counsellor who is real, genuine, easy to connect with, calm and has worked on herself at depth and continues to do so.
I am an experienced, qualified and fully insured person centred/ integrative Counsellor. I work from a choice of two locations in both Clifton village and Southville in Bristol. I work face to face.
Do you feel sad, anxious, or depressed?, Unresolved feelings from your past?
Counselling can help. I am friendly, warm and caring. I will endeavour to create a safe confidential space. I want you to feel safe, understood and heard. Counselling and the relationship we build can support you to process your feelings, emotions, behaviours and experiences and from doing this my hope would be that you will feel happier and more content.
Communication and connecting are natural needs for us humans, and within a counselling relationship comes healing.
I have a particular interest and experience in issues from childhood, issues that being a parent can bring, relational difficulties, feelings of depression and anxiety, along with low self worth, self esteem, etc. I can work with many more issues and feelings.
Counselling can last anything from 6 sessions, to months, through to years. It’s your choice how long you come for but we can discuss this as we work together.
I hope through counselling life can change for the better for you. Book in an initial session or a short phone call.
Practice description
The rooms I use are called ‘The practice rooms’, they are used especially for therapy and are private, comfortable and they and have a calming atmosphere with plants, soft furnishings, etc in each room with big windows for plenty of natural light.
I work from two locations, both Southville or Clifton village so you can choose a location to suit you.
My first session
A first session is a session where we get to know each other a little bit. It’s a chance for me to find out a little bit about what has been going on for you, as well as look at what you hope to get from counselling. It’s a space for you to find out more about the counselling process, me and how I work.
We can go at a pace that suits you, and it’s very normal to feel nervous at a first session and most clients comment that their nerves soon settle once within the room and with me.
I will offer you warmth, care and understanding and am gentle (but can also gently challenge you as needed in later sessions)
There is no pressure to continue with counselling after the first session if it doesn’t feel right and this session is a chance for us to see if we feel like a good fit in terms of working together.

Practice description
I am trained in an integrative person centred approach. I hold a certificate and Diploma in Person Centred Counselling (Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ). I have full liability insurance and I undertake continual professional development through ongoing training and keeping up to date with current practice. I also undertake regular supervision to ensure my work is the best it can be.
As well as being an experienced counsellor for over 8 years, I also have over 25 years experience in being a parent and all the experiences and challenges this brings.
I was also a teaching assistant in early years and primary for over 20 years.
I volunteered for Network counselling in Bristol and completed over 150 counselling hours with them working with a range of clients and different issues.
I volunteer for a mental health charity in Bristol fortnightly facilitating a mental health support group.
I have a love of the outdoors, nature and love people and interacting with others.
