I normally work Monday to Thursday starting at 10am, last appointment being 4pm. However I can be flexible if required.
I work face to face in North Wales, and also online if preferred, but every 6 to 8 weeks I travel to Plymouth for a week or more. During that time I offer counselling via zoom. You are never left without my services during that time, just perhaps in a different way to which you are used to.
When I take annual leave you will always be aware at least two weeks in advance usually more.
During working hours if you need to contact me , I prefer to be contacted by text as if I am working , especially if its outside I dont have access to my emails until the evening. I will always respond to texts within the hour.
About me and my therapy practice
Im an Integrative Counsellor meaning that with you at the heart of my practise we can work together in different modalities to find what works for you. This can change over the course of our work together as your needs change.
For example with anxiety we may initially work cognitively, finding tools that help you manage your anxiety, then move on to find and work with the underlying roots . This can be creative , Pyschodynamic, gestalt or working in nature, but always you will be the person at the centre of my practise being heard.
At the moment in my North Wales practice I mainly offer face to face sessions in a wheelchair accessible room or in a natural setting or walk and talk . I will do home visits to the elderly or those unable to leave their homes, usually on referral from a GP or other professional. I also offer internet counselling if clients prefer.
Practice description
How often have you had something bothering or upsetting you, or just that general feeling of not feeling right? You've gone to tell someone, a friend or family and suddenly they are trying to ‘sort it’ when all you want is to be heard, to be allowed to voice these feelings, hopes, fears, uncertainties without someone judging you or saying I know how you feel.
At Caercaveral Counselling I’d like to offer you a space where you can be safely heard, without judgement, where you can just ‘Be’ and we can explore what is happening for you.
As a Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ Registered Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist, you, the client, are at the heart of my practice. You are it’s heart.
I work with Anxiety, Trauma, Loss, Bereavement, Chronic health conditions such as ME/CFS, Fibromyalgia and Depression. I have experience of working with clients who are neuro diverse. I also have experience of working with historic sexual and physical abuse and work in a way that is as safe as possible for you.
I offer 50 minute face to face appointments in rooms in North Wales, and will see clients in their own homes on GP referral if they are unable to leave their home. I also offer walk and talk therapy taking advantage to be out in nature. This is in the beautiful village of Llarnamon yn Ial.
I also offering 50 minute Internet sessions (I find it feels very fatiguing for more than this amount of time and I want our time together to be effective for you.) The advantage of Internet Counselling is that I can offer this nationwide if you have good Internet access and we can be more flexible.
Please feel free to message me and we can set up a free 15 minute appointment to see if we are a good fit.
My first session
The first session we will go over our contract together then focus on you and what you are hoping for from your counselling.
Its very much about us seeing if we can work together and build a trusting relationship , so you can feel safe exploring your issues that have brought you to counselling.
We will talk about the different ways I work and you may have a preference. But always you will be at the centre of my practise. We talk about laughter, tears even swearing , all may come into the room as we work together. Violence and drug taking will not be tolerated though and our sessions will be terminated.
We set up a safe place visualisation , a place, person, object, pet ; that when you think about it , it makes you feel good. You will be asked to describe it in detail. This will a place I will bring you back to and ask you to tell me about if your counselling is bringing back too many traumatic memories too quickly. This is especially helpful with trauma.
We will then at your pace, explore what has brought you to counselling. If it gets hard to express we may use creative practises to help you draw out what you are trying to say and grasp.
This is a space for you to explore and find your voice, safely and I hope to walk beside you on your journey.
