About me and my therapy practice
Sometimes life can be overwhelming and we can feel completely at a loss. Sometimes it can feel like you don’t know where to turn or where to look for help, but you don’t have to get by on your own.
You might be going through a stressful time, feeling out of control in your life or feeling out of touch with your own emotions. You may feel as if you want to make some sort of change in your life right now. Sometimes just having someone to talk to can make all the difference.
I am essentially a professional listener. I offer a friendly, non-judgemental, supportive space that allows you to bring up whatever is on your mind, completely at your own pace. My approach puts you in the driving seat and allows us to figure out a way forward together.
I can work with you for a short period of time or I can offer longer term support depending on your needs and wishes.
My specialist areas include anxiety, depression, PTSD, truama, sexual and domestic abuse, mental health, attachment, loss and grief but I am happy to work with anything you would like to bring.
Practice description
I am an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist with a background in behaviour analysis and psychology. I have over 10 years experience working in psychology and over 6 years experience as a trauma therapist.
I mainly use a person-centred foundation which means that you are in control of the process and where it takes us and that I will work with whatever it is you would like to bring. Being integrative means that I may occasionally bring in techniques from other approaches, such as creative therapy or cognitive therapy, but this will totally depend on you and what you are comfortable with and what it is that you need.
I aim to help you find new awareness and to work with you at your own pace to understand what this means for you and how it fits into your understanding of your life.
The main thing is that you feel comfortable enough to talk with me.
Professional Qualifications:
MA Hons Counselling
MSc Hons Applied Behavioural Analysis
BSc Hons Psychology
Diploma in Working with Children & Young People
Level 5 Diploma in Counselling Child or Adult Trauma
I am also trained in the REWIND Technique.
I am also committed to continuing this professional development and undertake extra courses each year that help improve my practice and expand my own awareness.
My first session
Sessions are typically provided on a weekly basis, lasting 50 minutes each time.
This is usually for 6-12 weeks although everyone moves at their own pace so this can vary.
The first session is usually a 'getting to know you' session where I aim to understand your current situation and what you hope to get out of therapy and how I might be able to help.
More importantly this is a chance for you to see whether you are comfortable with me and whether moving forward is something you would like to do.
It is completely normal to feel anxious or scared when starting this process - I will always do my utmost to help you feel a bit more at ease.

About me and my therapy practice
My approach to supervision aims to facilitate growth and explore client work with curiosity, openness and compassion. I have a flexible approach to supervision that is very much tailored to meet the needs of the supervisee and the clients they support at any given moment. This approach tends to be very collaborative and I typically view supervision as a long term process that can support and nurture a growing working relationship. I take great care and interest in the way supervisees work, who they are as a person, how they work to support their clients and the different approaches they may use, often taking a meta perspective on the dynamics between client, counsellor and supervisor.
Practice description
My specialist areas are trauma, sexual trauma, grief and bereavement and I am comfortable supporting counsellors working within different modalities such as Person Centred, Transactional Analysis, Eco Therapy, Gestalt, CBT, Acceptance and Commitment, Applied Behavioural Analysis and others. My supervision practice draws on my own experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist and my aim is to help you feel as supported as possible in your work.
I am completing a diploma in clinical supervision and have been working as a counsellor and psychotherapist for 8 years. I also have 16 years’ experience within the field of psychology.
I offer online sessions lasting either 1 hour or 1.5 hours depending on the needs of the supervisee priced at £35 an hour.
My first session
During the first session we can have an open discussion about your needs as a therapist, what it is that you need from both a supervisor and supervision and what your expectations of that process might be. At the heart of this discussion will be whether I am the right person to help and support you and whether or not you feel comfortable to work with me. Everyone has different experiences of supervision and I know and appreciate how daunting choosing a supervisor can feel. This is why support and safety are always at the heart of my practice and why I aim to create such a collaborative approach to meet the dynamic needs of the supervisee and their practice.
