About me and my therapy practice

I am an integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor, specially trained to work with children and young people.

I have worked with children and young people ages 5-25 in schools and therapeutic settings for over ten years.

I trained in Child & Adolescent Psychotherapeutic Counselling (MEd & PGDip) at the University of Cambridge.

I studied Psychology (BA) at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

I work as a sixth form counsellor and also see clients privately.

Practice description

Through a consistent, warm relationship, I aim to create enough safety and trust to build up your sense of self, explore difficult feelings and create new emotional experiences and possibilities.

My approach is:

  • Integrative
No one-size-fits-all. Informed by humanistic, art-based, psychodynamic, attachment and neuroscience theories. Helping children and young people feel more integrated.

  • Age-Appropriate
Specially trained in developmentally appropriate therapy for children and young people. Offering opportunities to talk, play and be creative, depending on the individual's needs.

  • Neurodiversity-Affirmative
Experienced and passionate about working with neurodivergent individuals (autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia). Accepting as valid, and working to accommodate, the needs of young people who experience, think or communicate in a variety of ways.

  • LGBTQ+ Affirmative
Positively welcoming gender and sexuality diversity.

  • Creative
Encouraging creativity (art, images, metaphor, play) to support self-expression.

My first session

1. Initial parent meeting to discuss concerns, consider whether my approach may be suitable for your child and to answer any questions.

2. I will ask you to fill out a brief consent form prior to the session.

3. I meet your child for an initial session to see whether it is a good fit for both of us. It is ultimately up to the child whether they would like to continue to meet with me.

*Young adults 18-22 are welcome to contact me independently for an initial session to see whether therapy is right for them.
