About me and my therapy practice
I am a Relate trained Integrative Relationship Therapist, Couples Counsellor and Family Counsellor.
I try to be compassionate, empathetic and non-judgemental, while also able to challenge thinking and behaviours where necessary. Using this approach I strive to enable my clients to feel relaxed and safe in exploring any issues they wish to discuss.
Times of stress and uncertainty can compromise our emotional health. I provide a space where we can safely explore both our thinking and feelings, as well as look at ways of changing past repetitive patterns of behaviour that are no longer providing the outcomes we want.
When beginning therapy clients sometimes know exactly the issues they want to explore and some may feel a little uncertain about where to start and what they want to get out of the sessions. Working together we can find a therapeutic approach that is specifically suited to your needs and preferences.
I continually educate myself in matters of gender, sexuality, and relationship diversity. As well as being committed to addressing prejudice and inequality, so that my practice can be a space that is inclusive to a diverse client group.
I have a BSc Hons in Psychology and a Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ accredited Masters in Relationship Therapy (Systemic and Psychodynamic).
I have worked as a certified Relationship Therapist and Family Counsellor (MÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ) for Relate National for the past 8 years (2016-2024) and am currently working in Private Practice offering Individual, Couple and Family counselling.
Practice description
I am qualified to work both online and face-to-face as a Relationship Therapist and Family Counsellor.
Sessions last 50 minutes and can be weekly, fortnightly, or as agreed.
I am currently working online (on the encrypted secure Zoom for Webcam - very simple if you haven’t used it before). I also offer telephone sessions, for individuals only. (I may be returning to face-to-face sessions in the near future.)
We will agree a time and day for your regular time-slot. Session availability can be mornings, afternoons and some evenings. I can offer short-term or long-term therapy, as is required.
If you need to cancel a session, please give 24 hours notice otherwise the session will be charged for. We can try and reschedule the session if needed. When I take annual leave I will give you advance notice.
Payment for sessions is required at least 24 hrs before, I will then send you a zoom link which enables access to the session. If you experience difficulty accessing the Zoom connection please email and let me know.
My first session
Talking about issues that are extremely personal with somebody you don’t know can be quite intimidating and often prevents people from seeking help. In order to encourage you to take that initial step I offer a 30 minute complimentary meeting by phone or zoom so we can meet each other and I can answer any questions you may have before deciding to continue.
