About me and my therapy practice

I am a Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ accredited integrative counsellor. I'm professional, friendly and passionate about helping clients recognise what matters to them and explore who they want to be. My approach is empathic, down-to-earth and non-judgemental.

If you are feeling sad, experiencing anxiety or finding it difficult to make sense of thoughts and relationships I can provide an opportunity for you to reflect and share what is going on for you in confidence. Together we can explore what may be causing you to feel stuck and work through what is important to you. We can focus on whatever you choose to bring to sessions. I can offer insight and support you so that together we can discover how you really experience life and what you would like for the future.

I have experience and interest in working with self-esteem, neurodiversity, adhd, interpersonal relationships, cultural identity, sense of self and life transitions.

Practice description

I offer counselling on a variety of issues relating to stress, anxiety, shame, neurodivergence, depression, work difficulties, family and relationship problems, loss and bereavement.

I work in an integrative and relational way and adapt my counselling style to meet individual needs. The main approaches I use are person-centred, gestalt and psychodynamic.

My background is in supporting vulnerable adults, young people and managing support services in the voluntary sector. Before becoming a therapist I gained over 20 years’ experience working in domestic abuse, sexual exploitation, youth and harm minimisation services.

This gave me an insight into how trauma (both emotional and physical) and related issues, such as low self-esteem, difficult life transitions, grief, identity confusion and family/relationship problems can have a negative impact on mood, self-belief and motivation. And importantly, also how we are able to rebuild, change and shape our situations following even the most painful traumatic experiences.

Alongside my private practice I have therapeutic experience in institutional settings (University Student Counselling Service) and the voluntary sector (OTR). I enjoy delivering groups and working with individuals from a broad range of diverse backgrounds.

My first session

Feeling comfortable with your therapist is an important part of the process. A free initial 20 minute online introductory call is offered to decide whether we would work together.

Therapy sessions last 50 minutes and take place weekly. The arrangement can be open ended, long term or short term depending on what would work best. Fees are £60 for online sessions and £70 for in person sessions.

If you would like to find out more please contact me. We can arrange a time to talk about what has brought you to therapy and what you are hoping to get from the process. Amy
