About me and my therapy practice

I am a Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ Accredited counsellor humanistic counsellor,  based in Arundel, West Sussex.  I am committed to providing counselling and therapy in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment.  I offer a place where you can explore what is really troubling you at  your own pace.  Sometimes you may feel unable to cope, overwhemed, very low or that your problems are just not important.

I offer 1:1 or group work both individuals and couples on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period, with the aim of enabling you to enhance your life and to live it more fully.

I have specilist training in breavement, supporting you as you try to make sense of your loss.  Grief can shake everything up - your beliefs, your personality, and even your sense of reality.  Grief although normal, can manifest in a huge range of unexpected ways. Some people get angry, some people withdraw further into themselves and some people become completely numb.  Sometimes grief can lead to depression and anxiety.

I offer face to face sessions along with sessions via video link, utilsing the Zoom platform when clients require.  My sessions are also available to couples, groups or families.

As well as specilist training in bereavement I also have in-depth training with anxiety, depression, PTSD, eating disorders, redundancy, and regularly work with teenagers and adolescents.

Practice description

My practice is situated on the outskirts of Arundel and is within easy reach of road, bus and train networks.

There is ample convenient parking immediately outside and is a short walk from Arundel station.  The practice is fully wheelchair accessible as I am passionate and strongly believe that therapy should be fully accessible to all.

As an empathic, caring counsellor I will help you explore and look at your life and issues you are experiencing.  I will enable you to discover the path to travel.  As a therapist I will not judge or offer you solutions or advice.  Having a safe place can help you acknowledge your strenghts and support you as you discover ways to cope effectively throughtout your life.

Having animals in therapy rooms is increasingly being used to assist people with a wide range of emotional and psychological disorders including depression, recovery from trauma, anxiety and neuroses.

The presence of an animal in the therapy room can make sessions more pleasurable and productive, and improve therapeutic outcomes. Clients experience calming effects, brightening of mood, increased self-esteem, stress reduction and increased motivation.

Jet or Ruby are also happy to help you, they will listen and not judge or tell you how you should be feeling. Their experience as four legged counsellor's has always been popular with clients. They have often provided a level of comfort to many. Animal assisted therapy has been proven to aid people as they learn to live without their loved one. My two dogs Jet and Ruby understand how sadness can cause pain. Either of the lovely girls can be available to support you at this sad time. They both love joining in on a therapy session.  When weather permits it is not uncommon to take Ruby with us on a walk and talk session through the local woods.

I am fully accredited with the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ, fully insured and hold an ICO registration ensuring I comply with all relevant GDPR protocols.

I work with various Employee Assist Programs (EAP's).

Practice description

The foundation for my supervision practice is person-centred.  I offer my supervisees a valuing, supportive and gently challenging environment in which to grow and develop their own practice.

I practice supervision alongside my own private practice.  I have a good understanding of the challenges in balancing your professional world and your own need for time, space and self-care.

Equally,  from my previous career I have a solid sound knowledge on the pressures placed on counsellors and trainees by both our own critical voice and assignment deadlines.

Please do feel free to contact me to discuss your own specific supervision requirements.

The initial consultation gives us both the space and opportunity to get to know each other, see my practice and to establish whether we can work together, collaboratively in a Supervisor - Supervisee relationship.  It is also the perfect opportunity for you to discuss your personnal supervision requirements along with us to agree timings and any specific needs or wishes.

It is of paramount importance that the supervisor/supervisee relationship feels conducive to the style and way you would like to work.  With this in mind I offer the first supervision session at a reduced price to enable you to decide whether my style and approach suits you.  These sessions can be conducted either face to face or via video link, the platform I use for this being Zoom.
