About me and my therapy practice

Life throws us many challenges and sometimes we all need a little help to navigate our way through. We are all unique individuals, seeing and experiencing things in our own personal way and so our therapy needs reflect that.

I am a humanistic integrative counsellor and use several different forms of therapy depending on what works for you. I offer a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space where we can work together to explore who you are, what has meaning in your life and what has brought you to where you are now.

Practice description

I offer counselling for adults and young people (usually 16 years +).

Counselling is a journey of personal understanding and growth, helping us to accept and to experiment, to form new behaviours or transform existing ones and to live our best possible lives.

I have worked with clients from many backgrounds and cultures with many different reasons for coming to therapy. I offer sessions on a long-term or short-term basis according to your needs.

If you would like specific details about my training and qualifications or have any other questions please just let me know.

My first session

Once you are ready for an initial assessment, we can make you an appointment either face to face or via Zoom.

In our initial assessment session, we can talk about how you are feeling and what issues you feel you would want to work on. We can explore together what you would hope to get out of therapy and how I can help you work towards those goals. It would also give you the chance to see if I am someone you might feel comfortable talking to going forward.

If between us we decide to go ahead with your therapy, I will ask you to agree to at least a further 6 further sessions. I believe this is the minimum number of sessions for therapy to be really beneficial. We would then meet weekly.

Your therapy can be short or long term, depending on your preference and individual circumstances. Along the way we will regularly review your feelings about therapy and your journey. After the first 6 sessions you may choose to end our work together whenever you wish, alternatively you may find the work draws to a natural ending. In either case it is important to have at least one closing session to say goodbye, as this is an integral part of the therapeutic process.
